I have been here for a while I don't think I ever introduced myself

Hello,

My name is Mickey. If I did introduce my self a while back I apologize.. fibro fog is not my friend. I have 3 kids.(16, 15, 12) My 16 year old daughter also has fibro and other health problems. My husband works out of town a lot and I am pretty much a single mother most of the time. I have had symptoms of fibro for a while. But I wasn't diagnosed until October of last year. I have a twin sister (prncessrenee) she has fibro too. Look her up she is on here. She is my support. We look very much alike but act totally different. We have come to discover that when she gets ill with something in a few month it will hit me too. My biggest complaint about fibro besides the pain is my memory. I used to have a very sharp memory. Now I am doing good to remember were I sat down my cup of coffee.

Gentle Hugs

Mickey

So memory is affected by this illness? I didn’t think i had that problem only the pain because like you, i thought I was pretty sharp. Well at least I was sharp until yesterday when I had a big argument with my husband who was disputing with me that i had moved my car twice and i was telling him that i had only moved it once and the entire incident had happened only 15-20 minutes before. That’s what made me decide to join some type of group to hopefully get a better understanding of this illness and what to possibly expect. Thanks for sharing your story.

Hello Mickey,

Thank-you for introducing yourself, I do remember you - I admtted you! As I recall it was a while back, and my memory is rubbish too! From what people say on here, it is a common feature of Fibro. I try to have regular routines and specific places to put things, I am forever losing things; also writing lists, I find is a good memory jogger. What a lot you are dealing with, tho, you sound like a strong woman, and having a good support in your sister must be so great for both of you. I wish you and your family well, and if there is anything we can help you with on here, please ask!

Take care, Anne
