Hi Sue. I'm sorry that you're hurting like this and having difficulty getting help. Fibro is such a difficult illness for doctors to treat. What works for one person doesn't necessarily work for another.

Was the weight gain from Lyrica too much to contend with? Did you get any help from Lyrica, in spite of the weight gain? Gabapentin is related to Lyrica but isn't quite the same. Have you tried it? Maybe it would prove helpful for you. My doctor has me on Nortriptyline and Lyrica. The Nortriptyline also helps to tamp down the pain, along with the Lyrica.

I don't know about diets but I'm sure someone on here can help you with that question.

Sue, please hang in there. Maybe you need to change doctor in order to find something that helps you more. However, I must say that it's hard to find anything to kick the fibro pain so if you have something, it's not a bad thing. Quite a few people on here take vicodin for their fibro pain on a regular basis. I'm not trying to say whether you should or shouldn't,only that it is something to consider for the pain.

I truly wish I could be of more help to you on the matter but it's the tough one to answer. We're all kind of in the same place as you are in regards to finding that magic pill that really reduces our pain.

Please come back and talk to us about your fibro issues. We can relate! You would be surprised over how many of your struggles we've faced. We'll try to help you with answers if we possible can.

Take care,

Petunia Girl
