Itching

Hi
Does anyone experience random, all over itching? I’m on day three of this really annoying problem . I haven’t had any medication changes so I’m wondering if this too is just another symptom of Fibro? Also I’m in a lot more pain than I’ve been in quite a while. Maybe all part of a flare???

Hi Dyana,

I have seen other members post about the itching issue and pain increasing can definitely be part of a flare. I don't have the issue with itching unless my Psoriaris acts up; but I am definitely no stranger to the pain flares. I hope you feel better soon and be kind to yourself *Hugs*.

hi, I have been offline for a little while. I have episodes of itching that are pretty intense at times. I thought this was just something else wrong with me, but benedryl and otc itch cream didn't help. I will see if it acts up during a bad pain and fatigue flare. I am sorry you all have it. I am learning from this site and appreciate the support and info. It's not just me, it's fibro. Some of my other conditions have some overlapping symptoms, but the itching wasn't one, that I know of. Thank you.

Hello, I also have intense itchy spots at times. Have you discussed this with your doctor? If not, that might be good to do, just to keep them in the loop. Fibro can certainly be ever-changing and this could be part of it or part of a flare but always a good idea to keep your doctor in the loop. Also, if you go to the main discussions page, you can search "itching" and bring up other conversations on this, you might find other member input helpful. Hugs.

Hi there!

I've also had episodes of extreme itchiness all over, sometimes in the palm of my left hand. I thought maybe it was an allergic reaction of some sort but to my dismay it wasn't. Turned out to be a Fibro flare-up. I used otc hydracortizone, but everyone is different. Hope you feel better soon ♥

Itching is definitely one of my symptoms. I take Zyrtec which so far seems to help control it when it gets out of control. Hope you feel better soon.

Hi, Dyanna! I have noticed that since spring is here in middle Tennessee, my allergies are already flaring up & intense itching & worsening of my fibro pain are happening to me right now. I just came home from a minute clinic diagnosed with a severe sinus infection spread to my ears–it makes everything hurt. I love spring but not what my allergies do to me!

I have been experiencing intense itching at times. Just recently I have started associating it with fibro. I haven’t found anything yet that calms it. Just know you aren’t alone!

Thank you for all of the replies. The itching lasted about four or five days and so far hasn’t returned:) Hope you all are having a good day:))

Hi Dyana,

My understanding is that itching is activated in the same area/nerve as pain. Makes sense, in a way, that if you are feeling pain that some areas are interpreting the pain as an itch.

Also, in some cases, this could be related to restless leg syndrome: http://www.helpguide.org/articles/sleep/restless-leg-syndrome-rls.htm

I recommend reading the above, as it's quite informative and may apply to.your situation.

Im having serious itching on my fingers which ends up turning into blisters. So weird

Itchiness can also be caused by dry skin from dehydration as well as medication side effects. I had terrible dry skin this past Winter and found relief by drinking more water as well as decreasing the heat of my shower water temperature and using Shea Moisture body bar.
I hope you get to the cause of your itching soon.
Hugs,
Laurie
