Just for a smile and the love of dogs

Hi Fibromommy,

Yes I saw the group you started! That's great and maybe some of the people here will take you up on the training part with their dogs. Actually, their was a post on here not that long ago where one of the members was going to have her dachshund trained for aiding her with her Fibro. I'm not in need of that kind of assistance yet, but with that said when and if I need that it would definitely be something I would look into!!

Adorable --Adorable--Adorable pictures !!!

I had a silver poodle, smaller then the pic here. Her name was Muffin, who lived to be 17 yrs old. To this day I can still "tear up" when I talk about her. I said I'd never have another dog. 3 months later I was out to the H.Society & got "Precious" who looked to be part poodle/cocker/ ? mix. Since she passed I went into fostering , taking in rescue dogs from puppy mills or abusive homes. I now have 2 dogs of our own-----a 9 yr. old min. poodle, who is just the love of my life, & a little Chi, 2 yrs old who helps make me laugh even when I don't feel up to it! :)

Do remember, when you buy on line, from pet stores or the owner won't show you the dogs mother/father & living conditions-------you are getting Puppy Mill Dogs!!! A reputable owner wants to know their puppy is going to a safe, secure home . Anybody can buy from a Pet Store or on line. These people will feed you a bunch of garbage about them wanting their pups to go to a loving home & what a loving home they're coming from----Don't believe it for a second! ----There are many, many Rescue Groups out there, Adopting from them is a wonderful thing to do!

Aleta

They are just toooo Cute!

Wish I were in better health----and young as I'd have a house full!

Aleta

Oh that's a wonderful thing you're doing!

Aleta

Aleta,

When we got our poodle, we were extremely cautious about getting involved with the wrong type of breeder. Marley's birth mother only had one previous litter. The people who we got Marley lived on a farm in Hagerstown, Md with a beautiful lake. We met the breeder's and they interviewed us to make sure we were responsible previous dog owner's (a really good idea), met the birth mom and dad and only then went to meet the two remaining puppies. This beautiful jet black poodle (the turn silver as they pass about two years) jumped up on my lap and started licking my face as if to say, "Please take me home and love me!" The other dog was a bit more reserved.

The breeder asked if we wanted to see the puppies run and she let them outside. Mr. take me home went immediately for the lake and dove right in at which point, I turned to the breeder and said, "I'll take the dry one."

True story.

Yes, the pain of losing them is oh so hard , BUT for what they give us it's definately worth it to keep a dog in our lives. Each & every one will hold their very special place in our hearts.

Beautiful creatures!!! They bring us soooo much joy! I know I don't know what I'd do without mine!

So glad you didn't buy from a Pet Store or on line! Makes me happy hearing this!

Marc that truly is funny! Well then all worked out beautifully.

Aleta...you are absolutely right about buying online. My thoughts exactly about shipping these little creatures all alone in the belly of a plane so much noise and cold I think! Anyway, I didn't think too highly about that. I just came upon this website via facebook and was enjoying looking at the photos of these cute little puppies. I cannot understand how they have so many and who buys all these puppies. Some of them must be much older by the time they get sold? I do not support this way of selling puppies! I must admit I bought my two from pet shops, but I live in a small community and have known the Pet Shop owner for many year's. A lot of the kittens and puppies she sold were from families who had litters and were brought in to her to sell. No puppy mills involved. My sister on the other hand had a bad experience when buying her Yorkie...the first one died within 24 hrs. of having her. It was devastating for her as the pup died in her hands. The vet said it was some parasite. The Pet Shop would not reimburse her...she was given another puppy within a couple of months and thankfully that one was healthy and she is now 6 year's old. All puppies need a home whether that is from a shelter or a store, but agreed your taking a chance to buy a sick animal. You have a big heart to foster and care for puppies that come from these horrid puppy mills. I agree you are doing a wonderful thing to adopt from rescue groups!!!

hope so even if the dogs just helps at home - its help

If I could add, if you adopt a retired racing greyhound you are also saving a life. these dogs are simply the most amazing friends you will ever have the privilege of sharing your life with. Plus, like with the local shelter, you are also saving a life.

Oh DreamCatcher that's easy. The little one wants and gets tons of attention, our shiba is a loner but every morning when my grand daughter comes I have to let her give the baby kisses... Our two pits are just so easy going and laid back they will just come snuggle up to us. They all are so different so it works out well.

Oh my I saw those prices. That is greed to me, but people do pay it. Not me...

They are both so cute...Charlie looks like he is having his coffee lol. Kassie is precious, my mom has the same dog and he is so spoiled haha. They are so tiny and sweet.

We have always rescued pit bulls because no one wants them, they are afraid. Yet they are the sweetest dogs ever.

I believe you are sooooo right!!! DO NOT BUY from pet stores OR ON LINE !----Use only breeders that want to meet you as a prospective owner & where you see the dogs living conditions, their parents & vet records to make sure you're not getting something genetically passed on to your new puppy ----Best of all get your new dog or cat from the H. Society or Rescue Groups. Most all Rescue Groups are very strict in the forms you have to fill out , coming to visit you in house to see if it's safe & if other pets are compatable with your new soon to be adoptee. You KNOW they care to whom the animal is intrusted for its' life & THAT IS SOOOO IMPORTANT! So next time you want a pet , please make sure you make the right decision in purchasing.

Everyone should research Puppy Mills to see what goes on there----it's heartbreaking. Please don't support them by adopting from Pet Stores or On Line!

I love pit bulls too I would rather have a room full of them than some of these other breeds

Aww that is a good thing then! Well you are lucky!! I think it's because I had Charlie for 6 years and boom Kassie comes along. So he's a little jealous and resentful he's not the king pin anymore and Miss Kassie she thinks she the Queen of Sheba! You should have seen when I had my cat and the fight for attention between him and Charlie that was funny. Anyone on a whole they bring us joy and give us some entertainment and cute little ways. :)

I know it's insane! Not me either lol

You know Oprah had a show on Puppy Mills a year or two ago. I'm sure many people saw that show and her intention was to bring awareness about this. It was outrageous I wanted to jump through the television screen and well what I would like to do to these people is to put them in cages and let them stay there and breed over and over again oh and let them sleep in their own feces. They call themselves the human race! It broke my heart to see that. Oprah actually had some of the dogs rescued on her show to put up for adoption and she also adopted a few. You couldn't get anymore exposure on these criminal acts towards animals. She brought awareness for so many important issues. But I'm glad she did that one!
