Hi everyone I’m Bev and very new to this site.
I’ve had fm & CFS for 4 years now (i’m 45) which unfortunately affects me so severely that I no longer work.
To just get through the day is a challenge. Anyway I have seen numerous doctors, been on every conceivable medication, and have always been very open minded to anything else that may help.
I attempt to have a massage - when funds allow, I’ve tried hypnotherapy, cbt, counselling - and many others, but then a friend of mine - who also has fibro bought a magnetic bracelet and did feel it improved her symptoms!
I had read lots of literature regarding magnets and their apparent benefits, I had thought about investing in a pad which you place under your sheet on your bed and it is supposed to really help. However I thought I’d also start by getting a bracelet also which would be permanently in contact with my skin (needless to say you do have to purchase a good quality product) which I did - however there has been no change regarding my symptoms, I have worn it continuously since December.
I wonder whether anyone else has tried and had - success/or not…with magnet treatment, and whether they would share their stories also…
While I’m on I’d love to know whether anyone else has to hav a tower fan on every night. Mine is switched on full blast and I have to have my legs (thighs mostly) blasted with cold air as the burning in my muscles/lactic acid pain is unbearable.
Do you see a Chiropractor? If so they may be the ones to talk to about this, as far as magnet strength, where to place them and if this is worth the money. Most are very 'open' and knowledgeable about the magnet therapy!
Sorry I have not been of more help to you, but if I find anything, I'll be sure to post it for you!
WELCOME BEV
I can’t say I have ever heard of anyone getting good results from the magnetic Therapy, my brother wears a bracelet so I will ask him if has helped in any way.
I’m curious about the lactic acid, recently a specialist ordered some lab work, he won’t even take me as a patient until I get the blood work, and one thing is the lactic acid… Do you have mitochondria deficiency ?
I don’t need a fan on, but I do get the burning in my muscles, usually my arms & back. I would like to see what everyone else says
Hugs & blessings

Thank you for your reply, I have to be honest, I just assumed that the build up
of lactic acid in predominantly my thighs and forearms was due to my fibro.
If for example I drag myself up my staircase, by the top I am obviously exhausted and a little breathless but my muscles burn with lactic acid. Having said that, the burning I experience every night (for which I need the fan) I just took as lactic acid!!!
I am now really curious about mitochondria deficiency, so I will certainly be reading up on that, and I will keep you posted.
I have never been to see a chiropractor. I have seen osteopaths, physiotherapists for massage (deep tissue) well as deep as I can take it, and as I suffer with lymphoedema I also occasionally have a lymphoedema drainage massage.
