Nothing on the net about this yet, that I can find, but this is the word from my DC today. He knows that I am active on this site, and I mentioned that many AMA Physicians do not think that pain meds will help Fibro patients, and he gave me 'that look', and said no wonder there are so many still suffering. He has come a long way with his feelings about FM, but only accepts the detailed, complicated, fully explained definitions of FMS.
Wow … This is exciting, I missed my chiro appointment today even with it written on my calendar … Ugh , bad fog… No wonder though, my mom had surgery last Friday , my upstairs bathtub leaked & destroyed my kitchen, and my son moved out today… I think I need more than pain meds at this point…lol
But I will be asking my chiro about this, thanks SK … Hope your doing ok
Hugs

Hope you can get all of this stress out of the way, dee! Whew! Too much at once!
that would be simply amazing!
No one know my back better than my Chiropractor, and their training is so extensive!
Well that would be a relief for many people. Imagine if they could give you a shot of something that eased the pain... I, for one, am all for chiros being able to do this, with the proper training. Enough of the doctor blather about pain meds not helping with the pain. I'm sorry but f-ing deep breathing isn't going to work on the pain like pain meds do. So why get a tny sliver of relief, at that, when you could get some meaningful pain relief? I think it's cruel to make people do without it, so I hope this goes through.
Hey, I'm sorry about all of that, Dee. That's just so much to take in and deal with. Much too much. Even one of those things would be overwhelming, let alone all 3. I hope you're mom's doing better and that something can be done to make your kitchen salvageable. And that your son will call and visit often.
Hugs,
Petunia
Me too, Pet, and this is what the big teaching hospitals are getting into. Classes on deep breathing, good posture, just absolute common sense topics, when people are in intractable pain! ha! I think it is beyond insulting! I am in on the idea that we have to keep moving, being still too long will tighten and stiffen me up in no time!
None of my Doctors will send me to PT, especially my DC, he said that they only have a very limited amount of time, and to continue to be part of the insured care programs, they have to show results, so they push you too fast, too hard, and in some cases, they do more harm than good, nearly all Chiropractors are licensed PTs. So if you want a program that will actually do you some good, work on your problem areas, who better to turn to than your Chiropractor.
I have often discussed my fear of taking narcotics with my DC, and he has to word it like this, "Now as your Chiropractor, I cannot talk to you about meds that I cannot prescribe, but as your friend, knowing all I know about your injuries and illnesses, I would suggest that you take them, if they help you." And he is our friend, he and his wife were at our Wedding, danced at our wedding, with bells on! We adore them, his wife is a PhD, teaches college, cannot remember the name of her specialty, but it is something about the movement of the body.
