I hope my eye sight troubles are not due to medications. I'm on Savella and it has given me some relief. It seems like my eyes are worse some days then others.Like fibromyalgia pain-worse some days then others.
Yes, I just had to go last week and get glasses for the first time. My eyes have been changing since I got this stuff. Also, has anyone gotten migraines after the eye exam because of the bright light? My pain specialist said the exam was what brought on a 8 day migraine and to not let them do the bright light part of the exam. Maybe good advice for some of you FB sufferers. I have to get bifocals also. Good luck. I think it is fibro related because I read the research.
If fibro is down to being a change in our brain that affects how we perceive pain, then how in the heck could it affect our eyesight? We all know that it does. So how does that work?
i have the same problems, a dr didnt really do much for me. basically told me to wait for my eyed to get worse. but i think i want to go to an eye specialist, i dont want more things to pop up.
I think that's a good idea. Better to head off any potential problems.
no, I have had the same bifocals for about 6 years just the prescription changed 2 years ago. I wish it was just that lol.
wow, that's interesting. I'm not on it but must remember that if anyone I know who is on it has the same trouble. thanks ariestlt.
It is...I have dry, itchy eyes, pain in the eyes, blurry/unfocused vision (sometimes). These problems can get really bad to the point that I have to switch eyes (use 1 eye at a time) when I am reading or driving. The strange thing is that I have 20/20 vision but I can't see sometimes depending on how I feel. I've noticed that I get blurry eyes from staring at my computer monitor for a long time.
It seems that FM affects our ENTIRE BODY - is there any good, healthy body part left for FM people??
I found a good link that explains about our eye problems with Fibro

Come to think of it, I often have to close my left eye when reading the computer. But that is my bad eye. It does seem to get very fatigued very easily these days.
Hi im new has anybody having problems with there retina .My doctor found something on the back of my right eye.I have to see a specialist. What happens and what can this be im nervous and I don't see him tilnext month sherri
I also am having issues with my eye sight. Over the last 2 years, I have gone from an occasional spectacle person to now I can't see without them. My eye Dr. told me at my last visit, that if my eyes get any worse, he won't be able to prescribe contacts as there aren't any strong enough for my eyes. Even now, I find when I have my contacts in, I still at times need to grab my glasses to read something.
Hi,
yes, my eyesight keeps altering. It goes good then bad then back to good. When I mentioned this at my last sight test I was told this is often a feature of Fibromyalgia.
Go get your eyes checked out in the next day or so as you may be having glacoma that can destroy your vision if not caught early. If caught early and daily drops are used one can prevent from going blind. I am a nurse and if you were me I would run, not walk to the nearest eye doctor. A doctor that checks your eyes for glasses will have the equiptment to check for eye pressure. Please do not delay as any dammage can be permanent. You may not have this condition but you must get them checked. There are other conditions that can cause your symptoms. It may or may not have anything to do with fibromyalgia. If you are a diabetic or have high blood pressure these can cause eye problems also. A doctor that checks you out for lenses may be faster to get in to see. He/she can look at your eyes and determine if you need to go to a regular eye doctor. When you go to make an appointment tell them that you need to see if the doctor can see you in the next day or two because of your new vision field changes. Good luck, Wise owl.
WOW I just now saw the old date of this post!!! So, my advice is too late. Will have to read to the end to see how this issue turned out…
I'm pretty sure I've had the texture issue too, Kelli. It's almost like a hallucenogenic effect, it would seem.
On a related note, one day I felt just like poor Alice, as I felt like I'd grown incredibly small and everything around me grew huge. I'm wondering if the textures issue might be related to that experience as well...as in, perhaps the part of our brain that handles perception is overloaded due to our pain, and thus puts out these "false" signals. Just a thought...
Geranium, Have you had your doctor do the blood tests to test for Sjögren’s syndrome? It will cause the dry eyes and over half of the Sjogren’s patients have fibromyalgia. I have both. Do you have dry mouth also? Anyway, Write to me if you want to know of the brands of water proof eye shadows and liners that i use. They will stay on all day long without touch ups, even if you wet hour eyes with drops many times per day. Wise Owl.

I'm not sure anyone who isn't going thru this would unerstand the struggles we go thru. Fibro affects so many things in our bodies! It makes me feel like a very old woman!
I have to agree with you! I feel it all over
