Hi , I started having vision trouble to , I now have to wear glasses all the time now , xx
Hi Crazybird,
My answer is late but my eye doctor told me that your 40s are when you start needing bifocals. I'm guessing that we may not have realized this fact because the generation before us - our parents - were LOATHE to go to the doctor, so they probably didn't go and get their bifocals until they were in their 70s. I always associated bifocals with really old people but its a middle age problem.
As for your other question, I have no clue. I hope your opthamologist appointment went ok. Our eyes are nothing to mess with, so its good that you were proactive and went to see your eye doctor. Good for you!
Sherri,
I just posted an article about migraines that talks about how scientists found the dna that causes migraines. Hopefully that'll lead to much better treatment for them soon.
There are two kinds of macular degeneration, wet and dry. Treatment depends upon the type. Here is a very good site about macular degeneration: http://www.allaboutvision.com/conditions/amd.htm
Sounds like the yellow spots are caused by the thinning tissues in the eyes. There are some supplements that supposedly will help to keep the macular degeneration at bay (listed on the link provided above.) Wearing sunglasses is also helpful.
Hope this is helpful to you, Sherri. Best of luck!
I HAVE PROBLEMS WITH VISION AND MENTIONED IT TO THE NP SHE SAID FIBRO DOESNT AFFECT YOUR VISION THE NEXT OPTHWMOLOGIST DR SPPOINTMENT ILL ASK I CANT READ MY PERSONAL BIBLE DURING EORSHIP SERVICE I READ IY AT HOME USE THE PEW BIBLE AT CHURCH
So very, very true! I truly hope you got an answer to you eye problem, CarolAnn. Did you see an eye doctor about it? As WiseOwl the nurse said, it could be glaucoma or even macular degeneration. You would need the help of an eye doctor in either case. Delaying seeing the doctor could lead to serious problems, so I'd go if I were you. Maybe it is "just" fibro but it'd be a good thing to have an eye doctor give you the "all clear."
The last time I was at the eye doctor, she told me that if I was taking any fibro meds ( cymbalta, lyrica or generic versions) they would make a difference in vision. She said she had a patient who had it and got a prescription for glasses, got the glasses, started lyrica and then couldn’t see out of the glasses. It was because of the lyrica. So make sure you let them know what meds you take because some do have an impact on your vision. I can’t stand night driving anymore, because the headlights are so bright and I feel like I don’t see as well. Then the anxiety and stress tighten up my hands, shoulders and neck. I’m a basket case walking into the house when I get home!
Nice to know I am not alone! Reading all the responses... My vision has been very blurry. I got new glasses not even 6 months ago! My vision is always blurry even with my glasses on. I have been thinking of going back to see the eye Dr., thanks to all of your comments, I plan to go, just to make sure there is nothing more than just the FIBRO going on.
