Hi Everybody, have not written for some time, sorry. I do read everybody else's contribution but haven't had anything to say myself that has not been already said by someone else more qualified.
Anyway, on March 13 I am starting a new faze of treatment that is totally different from anything I have tried before. Have been referred to "Oasis Center for Health" in Hinsdale, IL, close to my house and Hinsdale Hosp, where my Primary practices and I Volunteer. Physicians and trained specialists work closely with each other and your primary to meet your health needs. Patients are referred there for many reasons including chronic pain and fatigue (even allergies, which I have also).
Patients may see one specialist or benefit from a team approach to treatment. You are evaluated and treated as a whole - body, mind and spirit. They try to find the best healing intervention for each individual patient (this quoted from their website, almost verbatim).
Anyway, they may use all necessary treatments for my personal needs, drugs, physical therapy, bio feedback, psychotherapy, relaxation, even acupuncture, tai chi, massage and chiropractic. I have great hope for help, and this hope has at least uplifted me spiritually. I am praying for positive results, would LOVE to get back to feeling at least as well as I did 15-20 years ago (man, that was great compared to today).
I will keep you all informed if there is anything I can recommend. Will let you know what has helped me and what not for your own reference. Please keep me in your prayers, maybe we can all benefit from my experience. GOOD LUCK TO ME AND ALL OF YOU. Lots of hugs and love to everyone!!

I went to a teaching hospital 1&1'2 hours from my home and all my doctors were their it was wonderful but do to traffic and the drive i had to find drs closer to home my team works pretty good together now, I hope you have great results rember sometimes it takes awhile for them to get every thing together and get the right plan i will be thinking of you on your new journey
How wonderful that you have found a place that recognises that it is as important to take care of you holistically. After all, you are a person and not just a list of physical symptoms. I will certainly be thinking of you and look forward to hearing some positive news.
I do hope that you receive much benefit from such treatment. I have heard countless stories of these types of treatments working for fibro patients. Will they also connect you with a nutritionist? This sounds great to me. I wish we had something like that here. Here, you are lucky to find a decent doctor. Good luck to you and you will be in my prayers.

I will be praying for you. This sounds like a good and hopeful treatment for you. Congrats for being referred to such an eclectic place with a great variety of options.
Good to hear from you! I think this is a wonderful idea, a fabulous opportunity to get as well as you can be! A friend of mine, who should have gone to med school thinks this type of treatment is just absolutely superior to the norm.

Hi MitzysViolet, how wonderful to have this opportunity at such a special centre. I really wish there was such a place here in the UK. Here it is usually the case that once the condition is diagnosed and other more serious and attention worthy conditions are dispelled we are abandoned to take painkillers and just get on with it. I'm so sick of all my ailments being put down to my Fibro and not being taken seriously for any of it! I'm in agony and feeling really unwell and nobody seems to care or understand.
I was so happy to read your post, I also have found a practioner who uses holistic approaches to pain control and over all well-being thru a very similar approach that your medical team is taking. My insurance will not cover it, but at this point, I don't care if I have to beg on street corners, Im going for it! Good luck to you, this is the first little ray of sunshine I have had in 5 or 6 years, I am totally open-minded and optimistic. He also treats with proper nutrition , oxygen therapy, lymphatic deep tissue massage, cold laser, manual manipulation, vision and sound therapy, and a form of vibration therapy that helps the nerves calm down to decrease pain. Im not looking for a miracle, but if I could well enough to start painting and drawing again, I think I would be the happiest person on the planet. Please do post your progress, Im rootin' for u! :)
My prayers and good intentions are being sent for this approach to help you on your road to radiant health! Keep postive and don't stress if things don't start working for several weeks. Expectations can undermine "loosening" into alternative approaches. Also, sometimes with alternative healing, things can get worse before they get better. Especially if a "detox" is involved. This is actually a good sign that bad energy patterns are starting to loosen, hopefully to be replaced with health and healing.
