I'm searching for a new doctor in my area, but I don't know where to start. I would love to find a doctor who is understanding, sympathetic and reassuring. The doctor I am currently seeing makes me feel like crying almost every time I see him, which makes visits stressful and causes a great deal of anxiety. He tends to favor my husband...tends to his every needs and then some, while shrugging me off and having a "just suck it up" attitude. It's really hard to talk to him, especially when he shows very little compassion towards me. Can anyone help lead me in the right direction? I would really appreciate any, and all advice
Hi Lara! Have you had any success in finding a doctor in Edmonton? I live in Sherwood Park, and funny enough my name is Lara as well! Please let me know if you have any success. I have been looking for a new doctor too in Edmonton or Sherwood Park and it really is difficult finding a doctor who has empathy or is knowlegdable about FM.
Hey Lara and Lara…lol. I’m in Edmonton as well. I go to Dr. Emily Comacho at Imagine Health Center by south common. As no doctors truly know much about fibro, she has been my ray of hope. She referred me to the pain clinic in January. Unfortunately, the wait list are huge, so I am still waiting. My doctor is supportive and concerned. I have had multiple flares that resulted in long periods off work. She supported me through all of it! Even the front desk ladies were awesome!
