I was recently diagnosed with Fibro/Arth... I am amazed at how uncomfortable/aggravating they both are, especially noticing it since the weather is changing!
I feel like I am going crazy, b/c it feels like a new symptoms shows up daily ( pain, acne, fatigue, wave sound in the ears, etc.). This morning I was so stiff and achy my 12 year old had to put on my shoes and sock for me before we left the house.
I am taking Cymbalta and Mobic. I think the Cymbalta is great, but not so much the Mobic. I plan on seeing the Dr. next week for a medication change, hopefully.
I am so thankful I found this website-man it hurts to type :-( UGHH
Yes, sometimes it does hurt to type since I have now been diagnosed with osteoarthritis. I was diagnosed 25 years ago with fibromyalgia and about three months ago with the osteosrthritis.
So, are you saying that you were diagnosed at the same time with fibro and arthritis? Wow, if that's the case then you will have many symptoms arriving daily!!
We are here for you if you are wondering if this symptom is part of fibro. What kind of arthritis were you diagnosed with?
Because a number of us have been diagnosed with arthritis as well as fibro we started a group so you are welcome to join it whenever you want.
If you are newly diagnosed with fibro there is lots of information to read. There is lots to read on the internet.
This is a great group. We're glad you found this site just as each one of us is glad to have found it.
Hum, Jackie, if you're considering hibernating for the winter be sure you have good internet connection!! The great thing about this online support group is that even on a bad pain day you can crawl out of bed to your computer and connect with us. Doesn't matter if your hair is a mess, just come in your pyjamas or your nightie!!
Hi Jackie and welcome to our website! It's a Godsend to us, so we can communicate to one another about our fibro eccentricities. As you're seeing, there are some wackadoodle symptoms that we experience. Some vanish after a brief visit only to be replaced by other symptoms. Others stay with us.
Stiffness is a biggie, especially morning stiffness. Pain and fatigue are also biggies, unfortunately.
The wave sound in the ears is a new one to me. As is acne. I wasn't aware of either being fibro things but maybe they are.
I've never heard of Mobic before, BBDOLZ. Is it a drug for fibro or do you have something else going on as well?
I'm glad you're getting some relief from Cymbalta. Thank God for Cymbalta and Lyrica and whatever else helps us cope with the symptoms.
What type of arthritis do you have? Maybe that's what the Mobic is for? Anyway I'm sorry you're suffering from both. That's a potent one-two punch.
I'm sorry your fingers are also affected! Grrrrr! Fingers should be off limits.
Anyway, welcome! Please come back and feel free to add to our threads. I hope they help you feel more comfortable with your situation.
The other great thing is that you can be flat on your back while typing. That's my most comfortable position these days, so it's great to be able to come here while still lying like an upside down turtle!
Lisa, thank you for adding such great advice!!! You sound like a women that has experienced it all. I love the statement " I have made peace with it " I’m there also , for the most part, as you said
And your right nothing is left alone, and allow yourself to mourn… Ok before I quote everything you have said lets just say I agree with every word…
Very well stated
Hugs & blessings
Hi Jackie
Welcome !!
I love your picture, what a beautiful family !!!
Be patient with learning how to best manage your symptoms, because your so right they change, someone recently said how can I tell the dr. Where my back pain is when everyday it hurts more in a different place, it kinda moves from hurting more in the lower back to hurting more in the upperback, then it’s crazy painful in my shoulders or elbows, does it travel ??? Yes that’s fibro, the pain is everywhere, but maybe worse in one area one day and then worse in another area another day .
So frustrating … Ugh !!!
We are so thankful you found us as well
This site has been such a blessing !!
Hugs & blessings
