Newbie

Hello--

Just switched sites, didn't like the new government addition on the other site I'd been on for a few years. Just getting used to this place. I kept my old name in case any one from there is here now also.

I've had fibro for 24 years. Tried no end of stuff--MMJ has done more for me than anything else. I also take tramadol, about 4 a day now, down from 8--the max allowed.

Right now I am displaced---our water heater broke, flooded the house. Messed up the laminate flooring and then mold set in, and then they checked for asbestos and we were high, so out we went. They had to pull out the asbestos and pull up the flooring, (they also packed us up) and now they have to replace everything and unpack all our stuff. The insurance is picking up the tab for our hotel stay. We have a nice place, with a kitchen and washer/dryer and we have our 2 dogs. They offer free breakfast every morning, free dinners every tues, wed, thurs. Maids come by every day, they even load up the dishwasher---it's very nice, but we want to get home. This is going to take several more weeks, and we've already been here 4 weeks. The dogs are not happy. They are used to coming and going as they please with a doggie door into a back yard with their own doggie run and some grass. Here, they have to go on rocks, on a leash. The little one didn't poop for 3 days he was so upset.

Things are settling into a routine now, but they are not happy.

Wow, the exact same thing happened to me almost two years ago! Had the asbestos issue too, all walls and cabinets ripped out. I had to board my 6 cats at first but ended up being cheaper for insurance company to get them a room of their own (they loved it!)

It’s a long road back but hang in there!

Thanks--It's taking me a very long time to get used to this site. I was on my old one for years and I do not learn new things quickly anymore.
We are comfortable here, but we want to go home!! I know my dogs will be happier in their own home, also. Sometimes the little one won't g out unless I drag him out. Not that I blame him, it's nothing but hot rocks out there and it's been 114 here! We try and take him to where there is a little shade and have to pick him up sometimes when he starts picking up his feet really fast cause it's too hot for him.
