Not sure what this is

Wondering if anyone has ever felt this.

Kind of hard to explain but I will try. I am diagnosed with fibro since 2012, taking Gabapentin 2700mg a day (in 3 doses), Amitriptyline 50mg (once a day) and also am using fentanyl patches 75mcg.

Please excuse if my English is not clear, as it is not my first language.

I am 46 years old, after years of infertility I got pregnant in 2009 with my beautiful daughter who is now 5 years old.

The symptoms I'm about to describe started when I was pregnant with my daughter. I have no blood pressure issues, no thyroid gland issues, and no diabetes issues either.

Sometimes when I change position, from sitting to standing, from standing to lying down etc...

I get this heat sensation in the bottom of my back from hip to hip, it makes me feel dizzy, and it feels like it rushes down my legs (those speels last about 5 seconds or so) I breathe slowly through them and wait for it to pass.

It's very very uncomfortable, not pain but like....hummm...as if I got a shot of Iodine in my veins (if anyone has ever had an MRI)

Anyone else ever felt this?

Hi Biancanancy, have you talked to your doctor about this? If not, I would suggest that you do. Fibro can present with a ton of different symptoms but it is a good idea to run new things or concerns by your doctor. I have not experienced what you are describing but have had heat sensation in my scalp from time to time, ever since I was a child, just in a certain spot. Please keep us updated on how you are doing. Hugs!

I have yet to discuss it with my doctor, there always seems to be a thousand questions each time hehe. But sure will and keep you guys updated for sure!

Thanks for the caring and reply, means a lot to me.

I have had iodine/contrast during a CT so I know what you are trying to describe but I have not felt it. I hope you find your answer from your doctor. Let us know, it makes me curious for sure. Oh I know you said you do not have any blood pressure problems, but from my nursing days, you might check for orthostatic hypotension… Its when your blood pressure changes when you change body position. To do this (if you can get a BP machine), check your blood pressure in the same arm 4 separate times. Lying, sitting, standing, and standing after 2 minutes. Your doctors office can do thid and also tell you whether you have it or not. Just an idea.

I have had that sensation in my lower back that and usually runs down my right leg. They tell me its associated with my syactic. Although I get pain with it.

I have also had an MRI, What would you like to know about it?

I too get pains that run down, usually only one leg at a time, and it is related to sciatica. I don't get dizzy from it. I echo Auburnm's words in encouraging you to talk to your doctor. Fibro does present with many symptoms, but some symptoms we have might not be related to fibro at all. I think some of us tend to lump new symptoms in as 'just fibro' when we really should be talking to our doctor to make sure it isn't something else. I make a list of issues I want to talk to my doctor about so when I go and get sidetracked I will remember what I wanted to tell the doctor. I too hope that you can find an answer to this sensation when you talk to your doctor. Hugs
