Pain Chart

I saw this awhile back on FaceBook and I saved it. It always makes me smile and it got me to thinking that we all could probably make our own personal charts as this disease affect us all in many different ways. Hope this give you a smile on a Friday afternoon.

This is cute.

Thanks for the laugh! Laughter is good medicine.

Today I'm a nine, on my list that means could be better, has been worse, and did you know I loathe the change of seasons and first freeze of the year? Where's Tin Man, oh great and powerful Oz? I need his oil can. (No go doc, stretching is entirely out of the question. The ripping would up my pain scale to I have incurable zombie-itis)

Oh I just love this. Tin Man is my guy too - I even have a little one I hang on my Christmas tree. I am creaking already myself. :-) I think I might make it to #7 if I do too much of that stretching.....heheheh.

Funny, Linniepies.

OMG! I needed this last week at my PCP..she referred me to a psychciatrist, which after I nearly ripped her head off, I accepted the referral. While I was there I was an 8, needless to say after I returned home it got to the 11, and if it had lasted longer than today, I seriously thought about camping in her office, until she helped me! Forgive the spelling errors, I have come to the point, I could care less, as long as I can be understood. Now, for the moment, mine has gone down to a OH, a 5, and I have seriously thought about the possibility of anything to help, but having nothing but celebrex, will just exist until Monday, with the sqealing and moaning I frequently let out..LOL those of you that have endure this pain and burning for more than a few months, I can really feel your pain! Thanks so much for the post, I can enjoy it now! Hugs to all! darly161

Oh yes, a MUCH better pain chart! We should all print it out for our Docs!

I hunted it down and put it on my FB page, I will send it to my PCP on MONDAY! LOL!

OMG, that's too perfect, Linniepies!!! I love it, especially the expressions from 7 on! And lol, suffering from stigmata?!?

Oh, I wish I had a printer so I could print out a copy and bring it to every doctor visit. That's too, too perfect!

LOL, incurabl zombie-itis!!! Wow, you've nailed it. We're all just a bunch of incurable zombies. Must have been the stigmata at work from the pain chart.

I hope that Monday brings you good pain relief!!!!! I understand that psychiatrists can give you an RX for them, as needed, of course.

Much better now, thanks, I am down from a high on her pain chart of 11 to a almost 6..good news is I haven't pulled any skin off today! And as soon as the insomnia lets up, maybe I can sleep! Small favors you know, we all live for the small favors!

Great. So I live my life between being actively mauled by a bear and almost definitely dying. And this is with dilaudid being pumped directly into my spinal chord 24/7. I guess some of us are just made to suffer.

P.S. What I wouldn't give for a little "This is distressing" or even "my pain is not f_cking around." I'd settle for twenty-four little hours

I like #7 the best!

I'm at about a 7 at the moment but I have been to "too serious for numbers" many times!

Thanks so much Angelique. I found it on FB on one of the groups there. This is excellent - thanks so much for sharing!!

That WONDERFUL pain chart is from one of my all-time favorite blogs, Hyperbole & a Half. She is brilliant, and every post will have you LOL’ing - the pain chart is a perfect example of her sense of humor, her writing style, and her crazy yet communicative art, which accompanies every post in some form. One of her most recent posts dealt with something quite serious which many of us also deal with, depression, and it was one of the most brilliant explanations of what it’s like to live with depression that I’ve ever read. I shared it with friends via my online site, and many have contacted me to say how it hit home, or how they in turn shared it with a friend in need. Here’s the link - it says Part 2 ( which I haven’t read yet, and am glad to see) but it seems to include one and two. But if depression isn’t an issue for you, just read her other posts, I guarantee she will make you laugh (and who doesn’t need more of that?!)

darly, glad you are feeling better!

No worries, I think most of us can read typonese. Sure hope so, because some days I have cognitive issues, and there is no telling what may wind up on a post that looks right to me even if I proof read.

YES! print it out, make copies, hand it out to everyone. tape oe to the fridge, to circle where we are so family knows. My family has gotten used to me putting odd stuff all around. Thank goodness cottage cheese, without the seal broken, doesn't smell too bad after a week in the pantry.
