Pain free....sorta... not any more:(

I understand your migraine are rare. I suffer from the less common form of migraine too. Have you tried any herbal supplements such as Feverfew and or valerian root? It is also suggested to try putting your feet in a hot bath and icing your neck and face at the same time it is supposed to draw the blood away from the head down to the feet. These are alternative remedies. Maybe something will work for you. I sincerely hope your migraine is gone soon. They can totally take over your life. Best of luck! Avoid caffeine.

I have never heard of that I do use ice on the back of my neck but I will try that. I can’t tonight because I am very dizzy and being home alone I am doing the least amount of moving possible. My mom should be home around noon tomorrow. I will let u know how it works. I will also look into the natural things. I have a lot of food allergies.

I do take excedrine migraine. It was working. But now nothing is. I do drink some caffeine every day but I try to limit how much I drink.

EeyoreLuver, OMG, I can not believe all that you have been through this month !! I suffer horrible migraines also & if 2 fiorinol don’t get rid of it , I sometimes end up in ER,usually they treat it with Iv dilaudid, why have they not given you a narcotic ?? Or did I miss that ? I saw you got relief after spinal tap?? My pain dr. Is actually a neurologist, I’m so glad he has no problem giving me the fiorinol, it’s the only thing that helps , it’s not fioricet, this month alone I have had 4 migraines, usually I have one every other month, but they have lasted weeks for me, but never a month. I’m so sorry you are going through this !! Try the ice, I usually pack my whole head in ice, I pray you get some sleep, and wake up with no
headache !!!
Hugs & blessings

I got dilautid in the er but not once I was admitted. The Dr on the floor said she wouldnt get any more. She said some crap about how she couldnt give it to me. She said I didn’t need it. I was pissed. I had such bad head, back, and neck pain. What they were giving me didn’t work. It kinda took the edge off but that’s it. I have never had a migraine last like this that’s why I think something is wrong. I am doing my best to be sane but it’s getting harder and harder.

well being in my own bed in a very quiet house did wonders for me to get some much needed rest.

i wish i had good news but when i woke up all pain came back. i guess i will just try to get into a pain clinic. i have no other choice. i dont think an er is going to help. however if the pain gets too bad i will go in but i will go to the one who seemed to help and care the most. i am not sure if i will get inot a pain clinic due to insurance. i was told i had the medical card but so far they cant find out if what i was told i was true.

the hospital was supposed to do more checking into it. i was told that with being admitted twice in a week should help me get it faster.

EeyoreLuver how are you doing ? I have been thinking about you all day, Do you have an appointment scheduled with a pain dr. Or neurologist ? What about your PCP, my heart goes out to you bec I know what it feels like to suffer head pain constantly. Before I found fiorinol, I suffered for years with migraines & headaches. I have a headache everyday, I call it a migraine when I can’t function because of how bad it can get. I only take something for it when Its really bad, other wise you can suffer from re-bound headaches, like your sister said, I sometimes get into those if I take to much fiorinol, even to much Motrin & Tylenol can cause re-bound h/a, have you tried imitrex ?
It does work for some .
Hope your doing better
Hugs & blessings

Thanks I actually haven’t been taking something every day. I have tried to just deal with it. I can’t seem to get rid of the migraines. In the hospital I was given something every few hours. But nothing since. I woke up too late to get a hold of the Drs. I give more updates as I get them.

Eeyoreluver,

As for your Medicaid, you can call their main customer service number and they can give you your id number and anything else you'll need when you visit a doctor. That way you can use it BEFORE the card arrives.

Maybe your mother could make the call to the doctor for you so you don't miss them? I sure know what you mean about missing the time to call them when you feel too poorly to call or are asleep.

I have been in my dark room all day. I am trying to sleep but no luck. I just want to cry. The pain from my ears has spread to my neck on both sides. There is no way I can risk driving right now cause the head lights from the other cars will b blinding. My mom is in bed trying to recover from losing so much sleep from being in the er till the wee hours sat. Then having to work the next day. I am hoping I can sleep soon before I lose my mind.

i was finally able to look up what u had researched. since the laptop is causing that migraine to b worse i can only b on a short time.. i am on blood pressure meds that seem to b keeping my bp under control till my pain level spikes. from what i could find what i have doent seem to match the symptoms enough to suggest that might be it. i do have quite a few of them but as i read more i dont think its the cause. but i wanted to thank you anyways.

i also tried several different symptom checkers and came up empty. your idea of gathering all the info starting back in july and showing it to the drs i think is my best bet. it will take some time but i am hoping only a couple days. i am afraid to look at the screen longer than my head is telling me to. i am afraid it will only worsen the pain. you r a great friend thanks for all the great advice.

thanks i am tring to stay positive but it is getting harder. i am really hoping an answer comes soon. thanks for your coninued prayers

stephanie

Stephanie, in addition to going a pain clinic, I would suggest going to a specialist who deals with migraines. If you call the Medicaid customer service number, they can easily tell you if you are accepted into their program, as well as your new ID number so you can see a doctor. They can also tell you which website gives you info on what doctors you can see. I know it must be agonizingly hard to do this when you don't feel well but the sooner you get this info from them, the sooner you can get to a doctor. It would probably be much easier for you to deal with Medicaid if your mother or someone else in the family would stay on the phone while on hold and then give you the phone when the customer service person comes on.

Let us know how you make out today.

Gentle hugs,

Petunia

i am not starting november off very well. i took 2 narco and 4mgs of valium around midnight and bt 2 am i was on my way to the er with intense pain and my aniexty was reallly bad due to the pain.

i went to the good hospital but didnt get the same treatment.. i am so mad. i will brobably be half dead by the time they figure out what is wrong with me.

i am lost as to what to do. i am still waiting on any news as far as the medical card and if i have it or not. i guess i will have to wait to see a dr when ever i can get in.

i know that the ers have done lots of blood work. not sure on my blood sugar but i would think that would show up in basic blood work done in the er. so far my posissum was a little low once and my wbc was a little high. blood work done a week later was all normal and so was the blood work done last night.

thanks for the ideas. i am all out.

Yeah, I don't blame you for being out of ideas!

Are you still experiencing the migraine? I am hoping NOT but thinking that you are. And I'm wondering if you have something pretty rare, as doctor's cannot pinpoint it.

It couldn't be the fibro, could it? Fibro does intensify and amplify other pains. But still...for over a month?

I've decided to google "headaches more than a month" and see what caused people to have these headaches.

Here'e one response to a person who had a very bad headache for more than a month:

I was having same kind of thing. They kept telling me Migraines, got an MRI and found my sinuses were completely blocked on one side, and 25% blocked other side. I had surgery for it. I am not saying it is sinus, but check it out. Head fills with congestion, but it doesnt drain properly.

Well from what I understand the scans I had would show my sinus cavitys. I will call and find out for sure.
And yes the migraines r still with me 24/7 the pain from my neck is moving into my skull. The heating pad helps some. From what I have read about a headaches lasting longer than a month it said they could b from taking a pain killer over and over. So despite how I feel I have not taken any pain killers at all for days. Uh it’s not helping. Thank you for all your research. Being online has been hard.

So sorry this is going on. It literally sounds like a nightmare.

I was reading some of your posts and I think you mentioned feeling better after some CSF was removed in the spinal tap? Anyway, I wanted to mention a rare disorder called Intracranial Hypertension. Basically it means swelling in the brain from too much spinal fluid. And headaches last all the time, and aren’t treated with conventional medication. It’s not a disorder that many doctors treat.

I wanted to throw it out there for you, in hopes of helping you feel better.

You are in my prayers,

One other thing, have you been to an ophthalmologist recently? If not, you might want to have your eyes checked out to rule out other causes for your migraines.
