Pregnant with Fibro

Very new to all of this. Fibro, IBS, CF and Carpal Tunnel. 32 years old, newly married and finding it challenging to deal with all these changes at once. All seemed to “come out of nowhere.” I’m not sure if I’m even posting this right. I know that God has a purpose for all. Just need some prayers. Anyone out there also new to this stuff? Also, can anyone help me understand how it is having these conditions and also being pregnant and/ or having a young child? I am not pregnant, but this is now some of the concerns I have. Before these conditions raided my life, I knew that being a mom was a for sure. Now I have to consider everything involved. Praying big and less pain in this near future decision if it is to be. Thanks in advance for any help

Hi Davonne. My children came many years before the fibro. I probably had symptoms then, but lived as normally as one can with a husband and 4 children. Now the baby is 29.

There are people on here who are pregnant or have small children. My MD has fibro, a husband and a small child. She amazes me. But she takes very good care of herself. Diet, proper body work by physical therapists who are trained to work the fascia without hurting us, warm pool exercise. These are all good things to start now before your symptoms are out of control and before you get pregnant. Check your Y or local Community for warm pool arthrits classes. Even though it's hard to get out of the house and to the pool it is very helpful and had been recommended by EVERY practitioner I have seen in the last 6 years.

Snoop around on here. You can look at people pages and see who has young children. You can private message them and become friends. It could be really helpful to you.

You are very smart to be thinking ahead and to be acting pro-actively. Good for you.

Thank you ladies. Your replies have helped. I’ll be looking into the warm pool exercises/ classes.
