If you have experienced anything like this, please let me know.....
I have been having ongoing pain in my right side under my rib and in my side into my back for the last year. I did have my gallbladder removed and doctors are puzzled. I went back to the surgeon office that removed my gallbladder and all what they can think is I have some sort of problem in my colon. I have had two CT scans and nothing else is showing up. I have seen a gastro specialist and am now scheduled to have a colonoscopy only because I am having pain in my side. ???? I'm so fed up and I cannot help but think this is just another ugly side of fibro.
Has anyone else had similar pain OR pain in just one spot that is so intense with your fibro? Everytime I go to a doctor I make sure to tell them I have fibro. I always think I'm crazy because I have so many weird symptoms with my fibro.
This pain in my side and under my rib worries me though. It is so intense and thus far so unlike my other fibro pain, but who knows. Sometimes there is no rhyme or reason with my fibro.
Wow, I have had the exact same pain for about 1 and a half years. The pain is terrible and comes and goes. I have had also the colonoscopy, endoscopy and they have found nothing. It really bothers me and is not like my other pain . I often have been told it is IBS as well. I sure hope they can treat you as mine has been untreated. I think my doc is overwhelmed by all my symptoms and I am not sure what he thinks. I am fed up with my docs and am gonna request a psychiatrist.. not because I think I am nuts but because I need one to deal with the doctors that seem to be of no help to me.. That may be harsh but it is how I feel. I have no faith in my doctor or in the health system here in Canada right now.. Money, money money and saving it is what they really are doing.. No unneeded testing is what I am sure they are told to do. by OUR HEALTH SYSTEM.I would rather pay and get the real help I need than have to deal with this system. I also believe that because of the Fibro Label we are not taken seriously with our symptoms . Well there is my 5 cents worth. Hope you all have a great day. Hugs Lisa
I had this pain for a year after gall bladder surgery, then at other times when I got it, it was diagnosed as pancreatitis or inflammation of the liver due to autoimmune disease attacking it. Once they said it was gastritis (inflammation of the stomach). You might want to Google the symptoms of those 3 and see if they fit. I have IBS but IBS pain is not that high and doesn't hurt as severely through to your back.
Yes, I get this pain too quite a lot. Not every day but it comes and goes in spells. I put mine down to fibro as with everything else as every time I ask the docs everything is blamed on fibro anyway. But as you have had similar problems that's not fibro related I can understand your concern and persistence to find out for definite what it is.
Catch 22 they call it here... I don't know what to say but you're not going crazy.
i have this same pain and my doctor says its part of fibro. I don’t know about that but it has been almost continuous for close to 2 years now. I have had my gallbladder out already but the pain is close to that same area.
