Hi everyone, I got my X-ray results and it turns out I sprained my back -_- I did not realize that was possible. Anyway, I work with autistic kids and on Friday one of our boys had a fit and he grabbed me by the arms, well I now have a lump in my arm do to a pulled muscle… So my question is does the fibromyalgia cause our muscles to be weaker? I’ve always been a clumsy person and some how I’ve managed to not break things or sprain/ pull muscles and now all of a sudden in the matter of a couple weeks it’s my back and arm. Just wondering.
That's a good question my physical therapist told me people with lupus are always coming in for pulled muscles or strains I never thought the fibro could be contributing to. I am clumsy to.
Hi Traci,
Yes fibro does cause muscle weakness , so I’m guessing its common to have muscle strain as well. My muscles always hurt & if I do anything that uses a group of muscles more it does cause more strain & pain
If my grandson pulls on me to much it causes pain in the days following ,
I find that ice helps , if used initially , but heat feels good, a warm bath and salon pas hot patches help also
Hugs

Thank you so much.
