Restless legs, restless mind

Hey all,
So it is yet another insomnia stricken night for me. As exhausted as I am and despite how badly I want to fall asleep, my restless legs and even more restless mind are keeping me wide awake.
Is there something you can do to kind of clear your head before bedtime and also maybe something you can take to make the restless legs not so previlant?
Thanks everyone, I would appreciate any and all feedback. I have got to find a way to get some sleep soon…before I’m a complete zombie.

i use sleep hypnosis jody white on you tube is great. this helps me shut my mind off the restless legs takes a bit with it but body pillow and sometimes a heating a pad after trying to do the splits lol

Thanks for the tips I will have to try it! I didn’t know such a thing existed on YouTube haha

I had terrible RLS, and between taking 4 of these a day, 2 in am, 2 in pm, http://www.thenaturalonline.com/douglas-laboratories-cal-mag-2001-90-tablets.html These are recommended by my Chriopractor, and I also take Lyrica 225 mg 3x daily, that is mostly for Sciatica. Not only is the magnesium great for your muscles, but it's the right kind of calciuim (citrate) for your bone health! Talk to your Doctor, see if he has any ideas!

Between these 2 things, I have a pretty good handle on the RLS, though I know my bad back is the main cause of mine!

Hope you can get some relief!

Hugs,

SK

Thanks so much, I have been running myself a little ragged lately but I go through cycles where my sleep is actually a little better. I appreciate all of the support and advice!

Hope you get some relief as well

Blessings and prayers

My legs ache terribly also. Try a nice warm bath with Epsom salts, and nice relaxing music, hope you get some relief, Melissa

I saw this the other day and wondered if it would work for some of us. Yoga for Sleeplessness. No extreme movements. Just to relax and help clear our minds. I'm going to give it a try next time I can't sleep. See what you think, Ahava31.

PS I like Mel's idea of warm bath and Epsom salts. If you add a little baking soda it also reduces acid. My legs hurt constantly. Probably the most 'touch' sensitive part of my body. My little cat even hurts me when she walks on my legs.

This has been good to come back to. I have developed RLS over the last week or so. I had it some 20 years or so ago and it went away. Now it's back with a vengance. I don't know what is causing it. Although I've tried all the things we discussed before it stays. It could be that I'm nearly down to "0" Lyrica. I'm not having any nerve pain right now, so I want to keep tapering off of it. The only other fibro symptoms I'm having right now are fatigue and anxiety. What a balancing act.

SK, you take your Magnesium and Calcium Citrate at night? I haven't been, but will tonight.

Glad for this discussion, Ahava.
