SuziQ, did you do any kind of activity that involved your arms at all? I find that whenever I do any mild activity, it usually pops up as a pain later in a nearbye area. For instance, pick up things, the shoulders ache.
i do get pain in the area you mention and when I press on the tenderpoint there, I can duplicate the pain. So probably fibro for me,since EKG showed nothing. Had it happen in twinges, came on a little bit then a lot, then it went away again. Definitely fibro-ish.
If you're having a lot of pain, please go to the doctor to be sure it isn't your heart!!!
Hi Q, K here.
I get that too, has been almost like an attack, and Chiropractics helps, I have been so bad I could not pick up a tea cup, Hubs too me to my Doc, who used to be his Doc before he started to go to VA, and before I knew it, they held me down, he gave me a shot of Demerol in the sternum area. WHEW!!!! I'll never, ever forget it, but it knocked it out of me! Worked for a long time.
I am anxious to hear what your Rheumatologist has to say about this. Mine remain as an undiagnosed attack, get it in my legs and feet too. They checked me for all the thought of vitamin/mineral deficiencies, nothing came up abnormal. BUT, I have at least 2 full systemic Autoimmune diseases, but this could be the fibro! Don't know!
Sorry, Q, I just saw this post! Hope you feel better very, very soon!
HUGS to you,
K
Hi sk I also have thypothyroid marfan habitual another connective tissue disorder and scoliosis curvature of the spine one of the others thought it might be heart will ask him ill check I to the injection when did you have it and is the lain still gone it'll be interesting to see what he says ill let you know around lunchtime central time tomorrow thanks for the information
They keep checking my thyroid and I have a detailed list from my friend Kit to take along and gently ask which one would be next, losing way too much hair!
So sorry about the Scoliosis, what a tough break, much worse than my Stenosis, but both bad enough, could it be from the spinal column maybe? I am nowhere near a Doctor, this is all supposition, you know... just trying to compare notes, cuz I surely would like to know what it really is, was taken out of the pool because of these, and the Raynaud's, but mostly these, was taking swimming lessons and arthritis exercises in the heated pool and doing well, they have done 3 brain scans now because I have had them so bad I called them seizures, Rheumy said no they are attacks, asked if I had MS or Lupus...
Rheumy said tendonitis can be very bad in the rib cage, and that is right in there with systemic autoimmune disease, all part of that tangled up mess. My ribs have small knots, so maybe somekind of connective tissue stuff, I even read about calcium deposits, but who knows Suz!
Sure hope it is something managable, even better something that will be made better by changing meds! You know, I have not had any since starting Enbrel!!! Could be a link there too!
Feel better, my friend!
SK
Hi sorry to hear that you are hurting so bad. My fibro first showed up in me as rib pain. I was diagnosed with asthma and after the rib pain didn’t go away I was sent to a pain guy and he told me I had costocondrotis and sent me to PT before diagnosing me with fibro. Besides for my back my rib pain is the one that bothers me the most often. Most the time they just ach but I can also get stabbing pains and shooting pains. It’s like I have a band just under my boobs that goes all the way around. I have had court ozone shots in 4 spots around my rib cage with no help. I also have a small herniated dish in my t11 t12 space and some docs tell me this is the cause of my rib pain and some say it’s not. I had steroid shot in that spot in my back twice with no help. I actually confused my doc cause I was the first person he had never helped. I have had ekgs been on monitors and had a stress test and everything has come back fine. I hope I gave you some info. Gentel hugs for you, hope you feel better soon.

SuzyQ, sorry that you got the usual results. Frustrating, isn't it? I guess it's good that nothing is "wrong." Well, of course there is; doctors are just taking the wrong tests and looking in the wrong places.
I hope tramidal or napoxene help your pain.
The pain journal is a great idea!
We're all lucky to be a part of this group!
The frustrating thing is that the very definiton of FMS is different with every Doc, so is treatment, but then so are we. It is just coming into light in the medical community.
Oh, now that IS frustrating! How can it be that an illness that thousands suffer from can't be quantified enough to make a definitive definition for it.
Well, start looking it up, start asking your Docs to define it, you'll see!
It's called Costochondritis, I started having the symptoms in 09 as well as breast pain. OB/GYN said the breast pain was caused from drinking tea. I discovered it on line, and finally a GP diagnosed me with it. I could diagnosed myself. I'm currently for my chronic pain everywhere. Hope that your having a good.
Sinerely, Laura
Hi painfree4me what the gp suggest you do was medication prescribed or an alternative treatment I'm going to do what the nurse suggested until I see the rheumi on August 7 thanks for the info
I'm not taking anything for pain, just living one day at a time. Wish you well.
Sincerely, Laura
