Before I went to the doctor about this pain, I, like everyone here, searched the internet to find out why my body was falling apart.
I read about Lyme and as I was reading I remembered last year I was bit by something odd. I don't know what, but what struck me as weird is it was a perfect bull's-eye, target shape. It was so weird I sent a picture to my son to see if it could be a spider bite. (scared of spiders, cant even look at pictures)
I told the doctor about it, but she ignored me. Do you think I should have the test run? There aren't many cases of deer ticks in Ohio, but I do live out in the country and of course we have the dogs.
Here is a link to Ben's Friends Lyme group. The members are extremely knowledgeable about the symptoms, treatments, and everything else pertaining to Lyme. You do not have to have a diagnosis to join. I am a member because I live in a rural area, and have pulled ticks off both of my grandsons.
Hi 5dogs7cats, If you don't have to pay out of pocket for blood work I would. When I first saw my pcp I thought I had Lyme and he not only ordered the blood test for that but also for everything thing else with my symptoms. When the test for Lyme came back negative he sent me to a rhumy who was then able to rule out everything except fibro. Having the results of all the blood work my rhumy was able to explain why I didn't have Lupus, MS and more. I'm extremely blessed to have a pcp who not only knows about fibro but believes in it too. If more drs would order a blood work up like mine did it would really make things easier on us.
It looked exactly like the attached picture, although it was smaller, probably the size of a silver dollar.. It was there for a long time. It hurt but kinda like a bruise.
The gals on the Lyme support site, have a list of 'Lyme literate Doctors'. This disease cannot always be detected with typical tests. I do not have Lyme, so I do not know as much about it as they do.
