Does anyone else have sore lumps under their skin, esp in their thighs? It feels like jelly bean size lumps, soft but sore- fatty tissue? Lymph nodes? I press on them and they hurt but I keep pressing on them, almost hurting good.
Does that make sense? THen they itch so I scratch until they become sores. Try not to do so but it is almost like my thighs feel better when I rub the lumps. Doc said only fatty tissue.
Hi Linda, I have that, it's diagnose as CMP, chronic myofascial pain. Fascial covers every inch of ur body & cells including ur brain & organs. Just think of a chicken...... when u cut the chicken up it has that thin slimy slippery, layer underneath the skin & the meat of the chicken. That's what fascial is like in our body. What happens is when u have the disease it's like the fascial dries or hardens & it gets lumpy & tightens up & is very painful. I'm trying to explain it as best I know. I was diagnosed w/ the disease along w/ FM 24yrs ago. I do believe it's very crippling. Sometimes the fascial tightens so that I can't move. It progressed over the years. The insurance pay for therapy for it. Ur Rheumy can send u to a Myo Clinic where they do what is called Myofascial Pain Release Therapy & Yes I did say it is classified as a disease. I have some knots deep in my thigh & my buttucks that are big as a softball. Very painful. The therapists one of my Dr have put their elbow into it & couldn't break it. It's horrible! Let me know what happens.
It could possibly pores that need better circulation , if the doctor says its fatty tissue then maybe because it feels better less itchy when rubbed , many you should see a dermatologist, and look a little deeper . Some people have different conditions that need different treatments .Best of luck love hugs and prayers , remember to forget to worry to much and just check things out as you go adding more worry won't help .
PS
Try having baking powder bathes also , helps with itching and use less soap even if its mild soap .
CHer TY TY TY I had to move to a hot dry location (instead of cool San Diego) cause of cost of rent. Fear the summer head- triple digits here with swamp coolers. I get you 100 percent.
Is this life threatening if not treated or just painful. Am I making it worse by rubbing them, seems to help. Please feel free to email me privately.
Yeah, I have them too and my doc also said fatty tissue. I had a biopsy done on one several years ago and that's what the biopsy said, too. They seem to be part and parcel of fibro. Sometimes my thigh bump hurts a lot - actually the stuff underneath them hurts sometimes. Mine don't itch, that I'm aware of.
Hope this helps. Nothing to be alarmed of, according to our docs.
Wow. This is the first time I've heard this info on our lumps. I'm a bit at sea over it - another illness??? I'll have to discuss this with my doctor. Thanks for the info!
I read all of the above and am very grateful to you both for bringing attention to this and the fibro. I agree that more people should add their voices to our discussion board because it will help people reading them to understand how dreadful this illness is, as you say.
The only upside to this: possible massage!!!!! That's the ONLY thing that seemed to help with my pain naturally (as opposed to taking prescription drugs.)
