I went to my Dr. Appointment and was discussing the weirdness that is now me. She was doing the routine checks lung sounds looking in ears and throat then she felt around on my neck. She says does the right side of your neck hurt. Well it didnt until she pushed around on it. There is a firm painful lump in my neck just above the collar bone. So now i am freaking out i have a lot of pain lumps under my skin but then i remembered that before my RA dr left she told me to watch out for lumps in my neck and chest looking for lymphoma. So of course now my neck area is sore my ear feels full on that side and i kinda think maybe i am turning into a hypochondriac. So my question is does anyone else have lumps in their neck. Oh by the way it is not near my thyroid as far as i can tell. Thoughts anyone?
Yeah, here's a thought for you: if you weren't a hypochondriac going into this, you certainly will be one once you get fibro! All kidding aside, my understanding is this: lumps under the armpits, around the groin and around the neck could possibly be a problem. It doesn't mean that they are, but they need to be checked. Did your doctor do a biopsy? If not, does she plan on doing one? I think this is a good time to talk with her and find out what her thoughts are on the lump. I don't think our fibro knowledge really covers this one, although hard lumps beneath the skin in the arms and legs seem to go along with fibro. One of our new members stated that they are an actual condition, myofascial pain syndrome, I believe. But you really should have your doctor be the judge of it.
My best to you, Jackie!
She wants to have it ultrasounded if its there in 1 month. It could be the season. As I have said I live my daughter and she has 4 children that I love like crazy but God help them they are little germ carries...lol. someone always has a sore throat or a runny nose. I have eduacted them on proper hand washing and none of them could pass that skill..lol..a nursing joke...so I will try to be come and when I see her then I will let everyone know what she says. Thanks as always for the wonderful support. My daughter and son-in-law try to be supportive but i feel bad complaining to my daughter she has RA and Psoriasis. So she is not feeling to great herself. Again thanks to all.
No lumps, but if you live with small children and they are in school or day care. It may be a viral infection your lymphatic system is trying to fight off. Any fever? Also spring is in the air, do you have allergies? Try not to worry. I'm sorry your going through this.
Hello
