hello everyoneI have fibromyalgia, and chronic fatigue symdrome, along with ptsd drom fibro and other past issues n my life, i went out with friends , and went to the MALL, YES THE MALL we were there for hours and we were walking all the time we were there, YES we were walking all that time so i paid for it all day yesturday and all day today AND YES IT RAINED TODAY AS WELL!!!! so now im blaming myself for being stupid enuf to keep alking as it i was normal

But you have to have a life sometimes. Yes, we all do make choices sometimes that we pay and pay for later. But you made some nice memories as well. And fibro is like that, you can go out one day and have fun, then feel like a cement truck plowed over you the next day. So we have to pick and chose the times that we are "ok" with having fun, knowing there will be pain afterwards.

That being said, I'm sorry you're feeling badly following your wonderful day out! I have found that mall and many store floors just KILL my feet and back, and I avoid them unless necessary.

Hope you feel some better tomorrow.

Hello pynkmynk

Living with chronic illnesses means that we know that we are going to suffer payback from some activities so we have choices to make. You could have said No to your friends' offer to go with them to the Mall but you might still have suffered with pain the next day or two. That's the frustrating thing about fibro. You can't always know when you are going to be in pain. So, ask yourself, Did I enjoy my time with my friends? Was it worth it knowing I would have payback? Sometimes we just need to say Yes and enjoy time with friends. There is no guarantee that staying home would have meant you would avoid pain.

Gentle hugs

Rachel

So true! This last Friday I did the same. Went out with my twin shopping. We love to do that and hang out. I’m still suffering for it today yet I feel very happy for the good times on Friday and it was just Sooo nice to get out away from home and work. Great answers everyone. I’m new to this all and I appreciate your hard won advice.

thanks for all the replys and support!! to no theres people out there that knows exactly what i go thru on a daily basis..THANKX AGAIN!!!

You're welcome, and we're here to listen to you. Please come again when you're feeling low. Or even when you're feeling great. We're a good community and try to help one another.

Hi Pynkmynk, you said it !! We pay for trying to do what others wouldn’t even think about. Iv learned my limits, then we just have to decide if doing something is worth, what we will pay for it. I usually don’t anymore, but walking around the mall with friends sounds like so much fun, I have not done that in years, so maybe next time just cut your time a bit. I always ask myself how much do I want to do something.
I’m so sorry you are suffering for just a simple thing like walking around the mall, but Rachel had a good point, your pain may get worse and you didn’t even do anything… So might as well enjoy it !!
Hugs & blessings

HI pynkmynk,

I hear you, but it's better to have gone to the mall and 'paid for it', than to never have gone to the mall at all!!! I so seldom get anywhere besides the Dr, grocery store, and pharmacy, so it is a rare treat to shop in a store, especially in a mall. I know the toll it takes, but I love to shop, always loved to take my granddaughters on sprees! Once in a great while I go and over-do, (doesn't take much) but am always glad I was able to go! I always have at least one of the grandkids with me, so it's a labor of love all the way!!

Hope you had a blast, and are recovering nicely!!

Oh dear, I can relate. When you're having a good time with friends and maybe it doesn't happen often enough you don't want to stop and rest. But you have to, hopefully next time when you need to rest tell them and they'll understand. Hope you get through this flare quickly. Hugs, Charlie :)
