Things that make you go 'ahhh'!

Tell us what soothes you the most. Here I go:

A hot bath,

Heating pad,

Chiropractic adjustment,

Therapeutic massage,

A hug from my grandkids,

A good night's sleep,

Being able to begin and accomplish a task,

a pain free day,

I bet you can come up with some great ones to share with the group!

Being able to walk my precious Tulip.

Heating pad.

My memory foam topped mattress (I just kind of sink into it- very comfy).

Getting warm and cozy under a ton if blankets with Sassy warming my feet.

All the things SK said.

A cupcake from Gigi’s.

MS Contin

Having my legs and back massaged, by my husband, with menthol and clove based oils

A hot bath with soda crystals and Badidas or Fenjal bath oil.

A tour of our vegetable garden to see the veggies and fruit growing.

Smelling the roses in our flower garden.

Talking to my kids on skype.

The rare occasion when I have a good spell of sleep.

Watching our three young dogs at play or cuddling up with them on the couch.

Decorating a cake.

gentle hugs

Jamey

definitely hot bath or hot shower.Just soaking in hot water for as long as possible. Even better with nice bubbles and a delicious scent.

Sometimes, getting into a really ridiculous physical position when I'm all alone (like lying on my back, butt to the wall and the feet pushed against the same wall. Or letting myself halfway hang off the couch in silly ways) It looks horrible, but sometimes I can HEAR my back and hips giving a sigh of relief when I do it.

a foot massage

a gentle backrub from a friend

moving around until I hear my spine pop. So satisfying!

I count my blessings as time with my nieces & nephews, becoming a Great Aunt for the first time (yesterday! - but unfortunately several states away), craft projects, beautiful snowy mornings in Minnesota when I don’t have to go anywhere, laughing while watching Ellen Degeneres, home makeover tv shows, snuggling with my kitty while watching Animal Planet and volunteering with my favorite organizations.

Thank you for starting this ‘conversation.’ I think it’s always good to remind ourselves of the positive things in life that help us get through the rough days.

A lot more. I have a lot to be thankful for while I am gritting my teeth.

I have a lot to be thankful for. First my husband who is the most understanding loving person I know. He has helped me through very hard days & nights. Next my precious cat Nimmie Gurl who always puts a smile on my face. Next to my friends who have listened to me complain & try to help me with my chores & shopping. I am greatful that I live in Hawaii so I can go outside & feel the fresh warm air on my body. I am thankful that I am able to live comfortably. These are the wonderful things I am greatful for & help me through the days & nights.

I need to see this today as the weather here is depressing. I would say laying in bed with the cats, driving with good music on the radio, yoga, origami, making little felt animals, watching TV with my aunt, christmas cookies, chocolate, dunkin donuts coffee, chocolate, curling up with a good book, being with my nieces and nephews, talking with my step sister, hugs, completing a task. Thanks sue..good topic

Hey you forgot the most important ingredient… Chocolate. And a nice hot challenging curry!! Or chilli, not fussy, but defo the choc choc. Lol.

The best place I get my heat from now is my fiancé. The cheapest, most constant and reliable heat source on this planet!

Yea it helps with pain better than my Rex pain meds

Yea vaporizers work well and not as harsh on your lungs. If you get a medical card dispensaries also sell it in tincture form which I like a lot for pain. You can also get it in edibles of any form too. Personally I think ingesting it any form helps with pain much better than smoking it anyways. It gives you a body buzz instead of a head stoned feeling which is better for pain in my opinion.

Yea they are good and good for pain

It actually helps with neasea rather than make you neaseouse so no.
I don’t have a recipe ATM I moved and haven’t made brownies in a while. You can prob just google one. I will do this as well and see if I find a good one and post it here. I recommend starting with a low dose. Everyone is different and needs a different amount and since there isn’t a acurate dosing its best to start with very little and you can always have more but it’s not always fun to get too stoned your first time. Hope that helps.

SK, I just want to say, before I make my list, you are awesome for posting this! You have helped me, as well as others I'm sure, to take our minds off of our pains for a moment and be thankful for the beautiful things and people we have in our lives. And for this I say a big THANK YOU!!! If I could hug you right now, I would! Anyhow, enough of the mushy stuff; here's my list:

-hugs from hubby and kids

-a warm/hot shower

-my fuzzy socks

-a hot cup of herbal tea

-a back rub (or a scratch)

-gentle stretches

-soft, jazz music

-minimal pain for at least an hour a day

Wow, these are some great answers! Thanks for sharing with me!

I also have to add my Hubby, love him so, just not helping me get things done right now, so to quote one of my friends here "when he's not driving me nuts"! I'm there! Love my Mom and son trememdously too!

My current favorite show is on tonight, 'Homeland', looking forward to that!

And CHOCOLATE, did anyone remember to mention that? Ha! Got you Kit and Jo! Just remember it is high in magnesium, and that is good for our muscles! ha!

Keep looking up!

Love and hugs to all,

SK

If my recollection from college cooking is correct, you just add the crunched up leaves into a box of brownies. Think we used about 2 -3 TBPS. of it. Bakes right in. Keep in mind, this was 34 years ago. YIKES!

That looks great angel! I am crushed that we will no longer be able to get the chocolate Hostess cupcakes!

The only thing better than chocolate cake with milk chocolate icing is perhaps a chocolate marshmallow milkshake for me, and of course a chocloate peanut butter milkshake for MB, we have talked about those forever! I think we bonded over those many moons ago!

Avenk, I love ya, but you can keep your coffee, the only good thing that comes from coffee, in my opinion is Kahlua and Tia Maria!! Love those, UUUMMMM!!!
