Tired...Bloated...Falling Apart

MBP, Thanks now I dont have to look up that darn doc that I couldn't remember what he was lol. Isn't this the type of doctor I want to run the other way from.... J/K Hugs, Robin

Ooh, thanks! I guess my mind doesn't want to remember this time of my life. Glad your mind works better than mine.

I go to a digestive disease specialist Robin.

Me too. I wore a size 2/4. Not anymore…

Redwingfan, Im going to call my dr at 8am. I need to go to this doctor just so I can feel a lil better. Thank you....Hugs

Hi Robin, I hope you are feeling better today, I don’t have the weight gain, but that’s because I’m not on Cymbalta, Gabapentin or Lyrica , but I have had tons of GI issues this year, my gastroenterologist saw me more this year than anyone, long story short … After my diverticulitis in June, my GI system has not been the same. I have unexplained abdominal pain, spasms, & bloating i tried everything from antispasmodics, aloe Vera juice, internal comfort ( a GI juice ) I have tried every diet, including not eating to see if it would get better, finally after 6 months i found something that helps … Don’t laugh … Gas X Yep the spasms and pain all gas & bloating lol
Like the GI dr. Didn’t even think to tell me to try that
It’s over the counter, of course you should still see the specialist as lots of thing can cause this bloating issue.
And just a FRIENDLY ( my F word) reminder that anyone over 50, or (45 if a hx of colo CA ) should have their colonoscopy
Don’t feel frumpy, if ur up and out of PJ’s that’s a good day, but I do know what you mean, I rarely put make up on anymore, and pre- fibro I wouldn’t take my garbage out with out being dressed & makeup  ugh
Interesting tid bit- I lost 8 pounds in 2 weeks on a gluten free diet, that’s with no exercise
But I gained 1/2 of it back when I went 50% gluten free
Hugs & blessings

Robin, it’s not easy and all the meds makes one gain weight. I’ve gained 27kgs within 6mnths, but I am pass the stage now of stressing about weight. At least I am not gaining anymore as i’m trying to do gym as painful as it may be. One thing I have realised living with FM, is that one has to almost change one’s mindset to keep the focus away from the pain. It takes immense mind strength & commitment to do this but once you start it does work. All of the very best !!!

Dee thank you so much. I have used Gas X before but it has been a while. Im in my jammies till 10 or 11 but only because Im so tired. I had to laugh when you said pre-fibro, my family would tease me because I wouldnt leave my house without blush and lipstick and now it doesnt even bother me. Thanks again, Hugs, Robin

Thanks Naz, I used to walk all the time but now my right hip really hurts me, so I do little as possible on that hip...

Robin, rather try cycling if walking is putting too much stress on your body. I have only started walking again this week, but have been cycling all the time just to get going. My professor recommends swimming or aqua aerobics as it has much less impact on the body. Go well & God Bless.

GI is one of my favorite kind of docs this year (2012). I went to doc after doc after doc who all told me that my difficulty swallowing was due to fibro, as due to Donversion Disorder, and/or was all in my head. After about three minutes of listening to me, the GI doc scheduled some tests, including an endoscopy, and found a pesky, lemon sized tumor in my esophagus which has since been removed. Didn’t help the fibro at all but I did have eight days free of fibro symptoms while I was in the hospital and hooked up to a wonderful pain pump. LOL

Love it.... So thats what I have to do for a vacation from Fibro???? Lol I hope you are doing better... Hugs,

I don't know you but as far as the sweating...could it be menopause? I hear you on the tired thing. It sux.

I am going to post a link about solving health problems with nutrition called the Gerson Miracle ... it's a free documentary on snagfilms.com. I am now taking my nutrition seriously and plan to improve day by day (nutrition wise). It is truly a fascinating film and makes you wonder about all of the toxins we have in our bodies and how we don't really get many nutrient-rich foods in our american diet. Watch it. I have hope that it is going to help us. I've tried everything re fms except this.

Take care and hang in there.

Thanks Lisa, I would really like to see that. Hugs, Robin

Oh yeah, tons better. I am three months post op and eating whatever I want. Yippee! Have an awesome day. Hugs back at ya, MB

Thats awesome and Im really happy all is well, Hugs

I know some of you are tired of hearing me but Look into gluten intolerance or celiac. I was so darn bloated that I lost

6 inches of my waist the first week I went Gluten free. My weight once bounced around 183, now it bounces around 165.

I am happy with that progress cause I feel so much better. My kid said I now look like a target mom rather then a Walmart mom.lol Have you tried Chicos clearance rack? There paints look a little dressy and are great to wear as your size moves around.

Some meds will give you gas. I was once on an anti depressant that gave me gas so bad I had to leave the room.

That is why I only start on med at a time to see how the side effects hit me.

Nothing is the matter with a braid. I am luck that my hair dresser gives me a good cut that I just wash and wear.

I have a frumpy limit of three days. I let my self be frumpy for three days and them force myself to dress nice. It cheers me up.

Gas X is the best thing going. I always have some in my purse and share it with those who need it or when I need it.

Tricky I just found out I will being going to the same type of doctor as you see at the end of the month...

One more mile, Thanks. I am promising myself on 3 frumpy days so wish me luck. I think I just have a hard time knowing what has glutin in it, such a pain but Ill get there. Hope you have a great night, Hugs Robin

Hi Robin,

Look at all of this wisdom! Wow!

May I suggest you have a serious talk with you Dr about the sleep problem. If it's pain keeping you from sleep, a sleeping pill will not cut it, and it was pain for me. If this is your cause, then I think your Drs either need to give you the meds, or you need to take them if you have them.

It was a difficult step for me to start taking mine closer to the way they were prescribed, but in doing so, it usually allows me to be able to sleep. Valium was added as a muscle relaxant, that can be taken 2 hours before or after the pain med. This combination has made a big difference in my sleep patterns. I sleep deeper and longer. I know none of us want to take narcotics, but sometimes we have no choice. I am at the no choice part of my life, however, if I know I have to drive, I cannot and will not take them.

Wishing you well,

Susan
