Too much to bear

Hi and Happy New Year to you all. My New Year prayer is for comfort and relief from pain for all of my Fibro Family. I have been MIA for quite some time now due to my problem with my right heel. I have what is called Haglunds Deformity on it. On Dec. 17 I had surgery to repair this...I have been in misery every since. I explained to the surgeon BEFORE we had the operation that with my fibro things were going to need to be approached a bit different for me and of course he seemed at the time to understand and be willing to work with us. Not so much afterwards when I became a big pain in the butt needing extra pain meds and taking the bandage off without his permission because it was rubbing blisters on the top of my foot and on and on..Needless to say I will not be going back to see him again for fear that my husband might punch him in the nose! So now we are trying to find a good physical therapist who understands my limitations due to the fibro. It has just been a bit of a nightmare and I have cried more in the past few weeks than ever in my life. So that's where I have been! Anyone been through this or know of anyone who has? Any help or suggestions at this point would be wonderful...I'm just really really tired of this entire thing and almost wishing that I had never gone through with it..then my husband reminds me of the pain I was in for two years with this heel before the surgery and I guess maybe it will be worth it eventually but right now I'm just hanging by a very very fine thread. Thank you for listening and God Bless

Hello Kayla,

Happy New Year to you too. Sorry I don't have any good advice for you. Just wish you well, and hope you can find a way to feel better. There will always be someone on here who will listen.

Take care, Anne

Hi Kayla,

Happy New Year to you and sorry you have such a jerk for a doctor. Have you tried reaching out to your PCP see if they can help you in any way? Wishing you get thru this quickly.

Gentle hugs.

Hi Kayla,

I don't really have any advice to offer, just want to offer my support and want you to know my thoughts are with you. You are strong for enduring and persevering despite the obstacles. Take pride in your strength.

Sara

Kayla, the pain from your heel sounded as if it was going to be unbearable without the surgery and you made a choice to try to fix it. I think I would have chosen the same. I am sorry it is causing you pain but try to keep in mind post operative pain will pass in time. I think seeking help from a physical therapist is a good idea and I hope it proves helpful to you. I hope you feel better soon.

Laurie

Thank you all very much for the support and we'll wishes..I'm still hanging in there. Gentle hugs kayla

Hey Kayla,

I am so sorry to hear about all the pain you are suffering through. Sounds like you definitely need a better medical professional to help! Unfortunately surgeons, doctors, etc. rarely seem to understand fibro, they only can wrap their minds around the information they read in their medical journals.

Well I don't have much in the way of advice to offer, I just want you to know that I am glad you came here to vent with people who truly understand what horrific pain is like. Please feel free to message me anytime you like if you just want someone to talk with or need to vent further.

Hang in there!

Blessings and prayers

Hi Kayla I had surgery a year ago on breast. I stressed to the surgeon that I had fibro so would need extra attention and pain relief. I even cancelledcthe surg but later on weakened. Yes, similar to your experience I had severe pain and angst for five weeks. I gradually got better and am grateful that she did such a successful job. It really annoyed me that she said I wouldnt be any different as she would not be dealing with major muscle or joint. She did not mention nerve pain! Anyway Kahla sorry to rave on but hang in there and I am sure better times and much improvement are always just around te corner. Hugs Mary Michelon
