Is it just me or does the change in the weather make your Fibro act up a lot? When the weather went from warm to really cold for a few days I ended up in bed for 5 days with pain. This past couple days the temps went from the 80's to high 90's and I am exhausted and sore and I have headaches I can't get rid of. Just cannot function. Feel terrible as I am a mom of 4 and I just can't drop everything and rest.
I have been keeping a pain tracker app and yes I am finding the weather to make things worse.
Yes changes in weather makes a big difference to the symptoms along with stress.
The cold in the winter makes the pain a lot worse. Warmth helps a lot but I am struggling with nausea and a massive lack of energy.
Can’t win but it defo beats the winters. I can eat ice cream, cold milkshakes and lollies all day long no problem!
its been cold and rainy where I am and I’m at the doctor office waiting to be seen. I stayed home from work yesterday. My joints are all swollen and feverish. He may just tell me its the weather but I feel awful.
Yes, I feel dreadful too!! We're in the grip of a bit of a heat wave here in the South UK, and I have such a bad head and feel more foggy than usual. Can't win here in the UK! It's either cold and damp or too hot, neither are good for fibro!!

I DONT LIKE EXTREME HEAT OR COLD THANKS JO FOR THE SUGGESTION OF ICE CREAM MILKSHAKES I EAT ROOM TEMP OR COLD FOOD
I did get in to see my rheumatologist today because of the pain and joint swelling and I told him I always blew it off when people blamed the weather for things and he said any time there is a big change in the barometric pressure, your joints will ache from the pressure change. I was just diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis so we are still working to get my symptoms under control and my med levels to the right dosage. He said when things are all out of control, the weather change will cause a major flare that can last for several days. I got a tramadol (sp?) shot, was told to take it very easy and double my prednisone for 10 days. So heard it straight from the doctors mouth that weather does affect us all and its not in our heads!
My Chiropractor explained this to me, "when the barometric pressure drops, it caused the body to expand, swell, and this causes it to 'thump'"! Oh how right he is! Thump it does, I know a storm is coming before the weather channel does! When hurricane Sandy came through here, and we only got the tail end, I thought I was going to die! I took morphine and went to bed!
We get alot of tornadoes, sheer winds, severe thunderstorms here, had I been in NJ, I may not have even been able to move to get out of there! My heart goes out to everyone who experienced it's horrors!
Jo is right, stress can certainly get you, and it can be just as bad as the worst weather!
Oh thanku mrs k . My name is Adie and im fairly new. I am so glad i am not imagining it then. U have just made me realise that i have been worse since the hot weather and ive told my friends this before, but they dont understand. I tend not to mention if my pain is high because i know they dont get it and just go along with it. Ive had a few tough days, yesterday and today have been horrid. Its been so hot i hurt terrible. Thanku again for clearing it up. Adie
Yes. Can't type much cause have bad finger but yes, weather does bother me when it changes. Better in summer but still a problem.
Oh my I sure can relate. I live in what is known as sunny south Florida and it has done nothing bur rain, rain and rain. My body has not stopped hurting in weeks now and it's this weather for sure. It seems it's always something with fibro.
