I don’t understand that some of you have to wait a year to see a dr? I know there is a six month waiting period, I think?
I applied in dec 2012 was denied in May , I got a attorney and SSDI called me in October told me I was approved and I will get a check within. I had a deposit in my acc 2 days later

I will be 61 this year. I first filed for Social Security in 2000. I am not on SSI, I am on SSDI
I'm 45 or will be in June. I had to see a psychologist also had that exam in march. Don't know just do what they ask of me so as not to hold up the procedure.
hum, im sure that even tho they want you to see their dr, he will certainly have your drs notes etc about all your issues. and besides that your so close to switching over to regular social security (at 62) i cant imagine they'd give you a hard time. i havent been on disablilty that long (im 58), the judge who heard my case approved me immediatly and said he couldnt understand why ss didnt approve me right away. he told me in th e hearing he NEVER approved anyone during the hearing, but that he was me because of everything going on. i have no idea what my drs wrote, guess it kinda scares me. hang in there tho you'll be ok
