Hi everyone. I'm brand new to the site and oh so happy to have found a place to connect with others who have Fibro!
My most recent flare-up started in November 2013 and has progressively become more painful and debilitating. My main concern now is with this feeling I have in my feet and legs all of the time. I wake from and with the pain and walking can be torturous - I feel like the bones in my legs and feet (both sides) are broken. The pain is terrible when I walk. I am taking Tylenol Body Aches and Pains every four hours every day with Cessamet and Lyrica for the pain. I also take Naproxen to keep everything from becoming inflamed and to avoid further tissue damage.
I have seen my doctor and she ordered blood work which was normal.
Does anyone else experience this and have suggestions for pain management? (I have found that short, hot baths help me but the relief doesn't last long). I have been trying to stay away from other pain meds other than Lyrica because that med in an of itself, knocks me out. I am currently sleeping on and off all day and night every day and it's beginning to affect my mood.
Any feedback would be great! I'm happy to be here :)
Welcome Tammy, I have had issues with my knees feeling like they are going to pop off, legs feel weak, ankles hurt and the bottoms of my feet hurt and have hot spots in them. My GP has ordered a Nerve Conduction study...I know I am not much help for you as I am trying to figure out what is going on with my lower limbs...My legs will literally begin to convulse when I am going down stairs. I just want you to know that I am here and read your post... while I do not have a clue what may be happening to you I am certain some of our more experienced Fibro. folks May be able to shed some light on it for you... I do hope you find some relief!!!!
hi tammy.. i am so sorry you are feeling so tortured. to be honest with you i dont think everything shows up in the bood. Perhaps you should see an orthopedic doctor since it feels like your bones. and then go from there. I did read that the Cessamet can cause drowsiness as well, I have had such pains and feeling like being run over by a truck however i have other chronic pains in addtion to fm. i send you all the best for your well being.. and BIG HUGGGGGGGGGGGGGGs'
I have something like this randomly. It will feel like the bones in my feet are breaking/have broken. They feel a lot of pressure and a stabbing pain that shoots up into my ankles. It's really not fun. The only thing that has ever helped me is to wait a day or three for it to pass on its own. It sucks, but my pain passes.
I really hate to hear you are suffering, its bad enough when your in pain but to hear someone else suffering is gut wrenching..Word of caution,,watch the tylenol as you could suffer permanent liver damage,i have already, so i do harp on that a little bit.I have had every imaginable symptom for fibro and i have know real advise for this symptom..As always the less you walk the more they will hurt, but its hard to walk..So one thing i have been using just recently is the old fashion hot water bottle/flexy pouchy thing with ice and water in it..It is a bit of relief,i like it a lot..Peace out and G.B,,wayne
Thank you for your response Moe. I too am waiting it out, but with use of pain meds which I am beginning to think may be worse than just riding it out without anything.
