I started chiropractic care 3 weeks ago , amazed to say the least… A dear friend noticed my right shoulder sit lower than my left … I had been plagued with hip pain but thinking just part of FM… Anyways made an appointment to see chiro and he did consultation and xrays found major misaligned hips receiving ice packs treatment /electrical waves and adjustments to spine, neck , shoulders, and right leg and hip each visit. I have been going for 4 weeks 3 times a week. A slow process but some of my pain have alleviated. It’s gonna take time but stunned at results. Anyone else use chiro? I would like to hear results.
I am always amazed when someone finds a good chiropractor, as I had "Dr. Dan," and his work did absolutely nothing for me. But I'm pleased and excited to hear of your improvements, LaDonna, because I had a PT person back in florida who put my subluxed hip back into place and ooooh it felt good when he did! So you must be feeling quite a good deal better. I hope you keep improving and end up with little to no pain. Who knows? Not everything we have is fibro. Sometimes a cigar really is just a cigar.
Hi LaDonna, I had the same thing as you.My right hip had deep pain and this is when I was diagnosed with Fibro. I went for every test, scan and exray and nothing. Finally they sent me for Pt. No luck for me though, some days I was worse when I left, I am glad it is helping you some. I can tell you the last few months my hip pain has been tolerable, it seems to bother me most when I am really over tired. Keep us posted how you are doing. Hugs, Robin
I have received chiropractic treatments off and on for years with mixed results depending on what he was treating specifically. One thing I have learned is that you must also have the necessary tone in your muscles and tendons to hold the correction–if not it will continue to “go out”. Just my experience :>)
Gentle Hugs
Hi,I just joined yesterday so I'm knew to chatting online.I'm glad that you have found a good chiropractor, they are by far not all the same.I started treatments before I knew about my fibro, thought it was just my job wrecking my body.I still see him when I get really stiff or have a bad miagrain.Tried to get an appt today but he's closed which is not usual.Wanted to get new pads for my tens machine and get worked over, very stiff and sore today, also bad miagrain and ringing in my ears that just won't let up.When I go I hurt worse that day but feel much better the next one.I usually go about once every month or two.It does take time but I'm so glad that you have found something to give you some relief.Don't know about you but it seems like that's what my life revolves around now, just trying to find some relief.
HI La Donna,
I do think a good Chiropractor can be a tremendous help to us. Through him I found out that when the pain in my hips is greatest, and one leg is longer than the other, it is usually when my actual pelvis is out of alignment and tilted.
I don't go as often as I should anymore as the ride there, which takes at least 30 minutes is often more than I can take, and if the adjustment benefits me, by the time I get home, it's as if I never went!
Without a doubt, his care over the years, especially after last car accident has kept me on my feet and so far out of a wheel chair. I will be seeing him once I get the results back on the MRIs I'm having this Thursday. I need to keep him current, in case I do need him.
Wishing you continued success,
SK
I did but results stopped when I stopped going. Went for around 2 months.
I have been visiting a chiropractor for over 30 years. Sometimes it helps and sometimes not. Some chiropractors are better than others. I am looking for a D.O. who does Osteopathic Manipulation Therapy because my GP used to do it and it was so much better. Unfortunately not many doctors practice this therapy anymore and my previous D.O. retired. It is a shame because it seemed to be less stressful on the body. I say whatever works for you stick with it! Unfortunately also the good ole insurance companies won't pay for many visits to Chiropractors. I an entitled to only once a month visits and sometimes that is not enough to help with the pain.
I did for a while. It did help some, but eventually I became too sensitive to do any bodywork at all. No massages, no chiro, no Reiki, nothing. I can barely stand acupressure. Acupuncture caused my left leg to go numb during the night after I had it done, so I haven't done it since. Everyone is different, and if you find that it working for you wonderful...I am so jealous! ;-)
I was thinking about trying a chiropractor because it seems to me like something is out of line in my body..Maybe I will give it a try !! Thanks for your post
It is very rewarding so far…
Have you tried chiropractic care Robin?
Thanks do much for info
True sometimes it hurts afterwards but it does relief pain for me.
Thanks so much SK.
Why did you stop going?
True about insurance company I pay out of pocket for treatments more buy its only $13 plus whatever insurance covers…
Praying you can find something that works for you too.
What was your symptoms with the tilted pelvic
The chiropractor explained that PT literally works on muscles. Chiro works on spine which involves which makes muscles respond. It donnas tasked time but I’m praying this will clear up ssome of my pain in upper neck shed shoulder area too.
