Close Encounters of the CPAP Kind

My first night with the alien called CPAP was strange, exciting and frustrating. It took awhile to fall asleep as I felt as if the alien was sucking the life out of me each time I inhaled and exhaled and the claustrophobic feeling of its’ hold on me gave me anxiety. I decided only sleeping pills would ease this and once they kicked in, the alien and I stopped struggling and starting breathing in tandem. Victory! Deep sleep will be mine this night, I thought, as I drifted… until, what must’ve been hours later I awoke startled by the alien’s saliva trickling down my face and a gurgling rattle coming from its’ guts! The temperature in my room apparently had proven too cold for it and condensation had formed on its’ upper lip when its’ breath was too cold against mine. I wiped my face dry and once again succombed to the alien’s grip and an even deeper sleep.

I awoke in the morning with its’ tail tangled around my left arm. This union will not be an easy one, I thought, but humankind ( errr my sleep…ha!) was depending on my compliance to the alien called CPAP and I would need to find a way to live together with it peacefully.

LOL!!!!!!!!!!!! Well done! And very accurate. I'm glad that the alien tolerated you well. Mine was just like a jellyfish, pulling itself out of shape whenever I tried to get it to form fit my face. Ut uh, no way Jose! You must have been sent a kinder, gentler alien.

Thanks, Lovett. I gotta strap him down with medical tape as last night he wouldn’t stay put!
Love,
Laurie

Hee hee! I had fun describing that first night with the alien. Glad you enjoyed it, Pet. The second night it was definitely more like your jellyfish… It wouldn’t stay put on my face! LOL;)

What a storyteller you are! ha! Sounds exactly what my husband has gone through trying to use one!

Glad you managed to ride it out, I hope this alien does you nothing but good, Laurie!

Big hugs,

SK

Thanks, Susan. I’ve certainly had great fun in telling my story! I hope you’re doing well these days, hon.
