My 18-year-old daughter, husband and I were on a getaway to Monterey. We had to work around my pain but it was a great time. I knew my body wouldn’t hold up walking all through the crowded aquarium so we asked for a wheelchair. It made the experience wonderful for all of us. I felt a little silly but would have missed out without this help. Just thought I’d suggest it if you are facing an opportunity to enjoy yourself but wonder how you might possibly manage it physically. It’s all about adapting as best we can to our challenges!!
Hi Amy. I love to travel and as you probably know it can be extremely difficult for us. I always ask the airlines to have a wheelchair available for me. It makes traveling and changing planes and getting to baggage much easier for me. Yes it means I spend more in tips but totally worth it. I have a wheelchair and 2wAlkers a.nd 3 canes here at home and before husband and I go out we discuss which of those helps I should take for that day. It really helps me.
