Fibro fog or senior moments?

I've had ADD problems since I was a kid (Once put the milk in the cupboard with the glasses when I was 7, I still don't live that one down), throw Fibro Fog on top though, and I'm just lucky my head is attatched or I'd forget it!

Common ones for me are: Using body wash as shampoo, turning the wrong burner on (haven't caught anything on fire yet thank goodness), making wrong turns even with the GPS yelling at me, etc. My fiance and I have just learned to laugh when it happens.

I have enjoyed the laughs this morning, reading this reminds me of some of my stuff. One morning I woke up late and the kids were running around trying to get ready, and eat before the bus. Well I couldn't find the milk and was sure we had some but it seemed to have disappeared. So finally I told them to go catch the bus and eat at school. After they were out the door and on the bus I decided I wanted something to drink, I openned the cabinet and there was the milk. Imagine that! I got a good laugh and put it back in the fridge. I have wore two dfferent shoes to church and no one told me until we were on the way home. I have gotten dressed for work and left the house and realized I still had my slppers on. My keys and eyeglasses are the worst. I was hunting my glasses one day and getting quite upset because I couldn't find them. My husband was no help and when I fussed at him for not helping me, he told me "Go look at yourself in the mirror and see how silly your acting". Well I didn't want to do that but he insisted. So I went and wow, there were my glasses on top of my head. I felt really silly. Just a few funnies in my life. Sue

I HAVE to put my glasses in the same place every day, or I'd lose em too. I regularly lose both my keys and my smartphone.

My worse Time was when we left pretty early in the morning to go across the US border to Bellingham Wash state. We were almost at the border when I realized that I had on one black shoe and one brown shoe, and they had different height soles. You can guess the first thing I bought when we hit the mall. The ladies at the sales desk;as they put my old shoes in a bag, looked at me kind of strangely, so I said ‘that’s what happens when I dress in the dark’

This post is cracking me up!! Like the “fish tanks” story, I am always saying the wrong words !! I absolutely cannot multi task which I used to be good at. Whenever I try to do two things at once as simple as talking on the phone and putting my shoes on i get totally confused !? So good to hear these stories, reminds me I’m not alone and it’s much better to laugh at yourself than become frustrated

Where are you Jo? We all miss you very much! Return to us, make us laugh!

Aww bless ya sweetie. I’m still here having my “JoMo”'s don’t you worry lol. Can’t think of anything (at all) really straight away but trust me there has been sooooooo many fibro fog funnies.

Just my usual extra long drives turning off at all the wrong places with my posh satnav voice going “make a u-turn make a u-turn”! Then turn to see my partner holding his head and crying with both laughter and frustration lol.

Luckily he’s got used to my strange lack of cooking style now. You know, the timing all out, forgotten ingredients or just launched across the room as I trip over that invisible force field lol

That’s what we call good days when we can just laugh about it. I’ve learnt to love my JoMo’s now in between the embarrassment lol. Sod it I say!

Sod it I say too!

Might as well laugh about it, and you do that so well! Sounds like you have a good guy there, and you deserve one!

Here's one of my chart toppers:

I had the little one and he was wanting chocolate milk, when I got a whiff of him, so I finished the milk, gave him the sippy cup, changed him, put the dirty diaper in the refrigerator, the milk and chocolate syrup in the trash! Did not realize it until I was taking out the trash, not too long after...

Then ended up cleaning the entire refrigerator out! Whew!

NUTS, NUTS, NUTS!!!! LOL!!!!

Oh my! That was a mouthful! :0

Well, I've had so many fibro fog moments.... Once I returned to my car in the store parking lot to find it locked and still running. Thank goodness I had a spare key! I now carry a crossover purse so I no longer leave my purse somewhere. I've learned that Windex really doesn't work better when it's been refrigerated, and cereal doesn't taste that great with soda poured over it.

One of the big things with me is that my words just come out wrong. I can't remember the word I need (usually a simple, everyday word and hand gestures sometimes help), I say the wrong word, or the words come out all twisted. I was at a drive thru ordering chicken and told the girl I wanted all 'thegs and lies'. After a second or two, I said, "What did I just say?" The girl over the intercom was laughing so hard she couldn't speak for a minute. When I got to the window, she was still laughing!

At least we give our friends and loved ones (plus ourselves) something to laugh about almost every day and each day is an adventure!

Well said 2Blessed, about the adventure!

Oh daily tongue twisters. I've gotten to a point where I can remember the word at all, and just sit there gesturing. Finace is learning my strange sign language well and can usually fill in the missing word.

I've actually done the Thegs and Lies thing too, they always look at you kinda funny.

Has to be the 'fibro fog' you are too young for Senior moments, Ally! Yes I know about the tongue twisters! It's part of my vocabulary now!

Haha that’s gotta be the stinkiest fibro fog ever lmao!

Haha defo fibro dyslexia too. I have people in stitches with it all the time. Yes and all the arm movements! My partner was just laughing at me the other day on the way into town cos he said people were driving past looking at us like I was special needs! Lmao! No offense intended…

Jo, you're a 'trip' just to correspond with on here, I can only imagine the fun to be around you, though riding with you may not be ideal for me! ha!!! I'd need a diaper on, and a stick to bite down on!!!

Haha you can borrow Simons!! I love you girls! x
