Ok. So I was talking to my friend that change her diet to gluten free. So I was researching, and it talk about Fibromyalgia and gluten free dirt, that it will help fibromyalgia patients.
I know that lately anything I eat it makes stomach really upset. Been experiencing things like that for a while know. I just need some opinion on this, I didn’t know how much gluten can damage our system and that for fibromyalgia patient how much it will help this kind of diet. Any suggestion will really help.
Hi! I have leaky gut syndrome and that could be what you have, but it could also be celiac disease (both are known associated/secondary FM conditions). I've had to go both gluten free and dairy free. I also have to be very careful with beans as they can really aggravate my digestive issues. When I get stressed I can't eat much of anything and lately can even get to the point of vomiting, so not fun!! Personally, I'd have your doctor look into it - other things can cause stomach issues and if it's not going away it's best to get it checked out. I've also read in a number of different places that most FM patients have sensitives to food and sometimes it's the "weird" things. Like all "night" fruits (certain red shaded fruits) or what have you.
As far as damage to your body, if your even just intolerant to it the damage will accumulate over time. On top of making it harder for your body to do what it's supposed to. It adds extra stress to the immune system which makes us more prone to sickness. Not to mention our fatigue and pain.
HI YINDIDAV. I SAW A SEGMENT ON DR OZ ABOUT GLUTEN SENSITIVITY IM GOING TO GO ON A GLUTEN-FREE DOET. Hi yndidav. Gluten can surely cause a lot of problems for us. I have been a really big bread/cereal eater all my life. When I came across this chart it really made me think. I did try gluten free diet for several weeks with no real improvement. But, I have maintained a very low gluten regimen. Now that I am more aware it's much easier to avoid. For instance, I can have some nuts instead of a piece of toast and feel more satisfied than I would have with toast.
I'm going to share this huge chart again. As you can see the symptoms of gluten allergy, sensitivity, or celiacs are really similar if not the same as fm/cfs symptoms. Also, check out the "recipes group". There are some good ideas there.
