Does anybody else have heartburn, either as a symptom of fibro or a side effect of meds? I am only on amitryptiline and it is not llisted as a side effect but I do suffer from it.
I'm not sure if I am missing something else which needs investigating.
I did take Ibuprofen last year when I had a back injury and that may have started something intestinal although I did take omeprazole with it.

I suffer from heartburn as well. I'm not sure if it is a side effect of a medication or my body, but it isn't pleasant. I have tried Mylanta liquid to help with it. It does help and seem to soothe it. I have also tried an acid reducer pill, takes about 30 minutes to start working, but it makes it go away for the remainder of the day.

It's always as well to check when new symptoms appear, worries me as well. Too easy to say just a fibro symptom! Having said that... I also suffer from heartburn, and I am on Amitriptylene. I do have Diverticular disease, and maybe a touch of IBS too, so I put it down to that. But please check with your doc.

Hi Quilting Queen, I also have GERD and have had it longer than the Fibro diagnosis. It has gotten progressively worse over the past year and my doctor is doing some testing to make sure nothing else is going on. It is always a good idea to check with your doctor on new symptoms. Hugs.
Not sure if Gaviscon, which I take, is the same as mylanta with a different brand name but it does help. I think you are right that I should get it checked out anyway so thanks.
