Hip & leg pain

Does anybody else get hip pain that has shooting pain down the back of the leg?? I have them frequently and can not find a way to get rid of them. I am starting to miss work because I can't lay down and sleep, I also can't sit in a chair for very long. Any solutions would be greatly appreciated.

Supposedly those shots of cortisone (I think it's cortisone) into your spine or SI joint are helpful... I can't say personally because they didn't help my SI joint pain, and I don't have the leg pain. But it might be worth looking into.

Also did you have a test done on your nerves? I had a doctor stick something that felt like needles into my leg to see if it was a nerve in the leg causing the SI joint pain.

Not much help, I'm afraid. Hope someone else can assist.

I have hip pain that causes the top of my foot to go numb. Had the nerve testing done by a neurologist and had injections in my spine by a pain management doctor. However, I have never had the back of my leg go numb. I damaged my low back in an accident and that started my problems.

If your internist can’t help find a diagnosis, you might try a pain management clinic. Another alternative is a chiropractor.

I hope you’re feeling better soon-

I feel so bad, Amy, not knowing a darned thing to suggest for you. I only get occasional pins and needles/burning in the foot not pain in the leg so don't know HOW to relieve the pain.

Have you done a google search on Fibro + hip pain going down leg? I'm willing to bet that others get that pain too and might be able to offer some of their own "remedies."

Please let us know how you make out!

Never thought to google it, the pain is starting to go away I think, its hard to tell if it is going away or I am just getting use to having it.
