Hot flashes

I have been having really bad hot flashes i start sweeting really bad just sitting still but my feet are like ice cubes is this normal with fibro or not? I have never had them before so not sure what is going on I am on savella have been taking it for a week now started the full 100mgs a day today but have had these hot flashes for a while any input would be helpfull thanks in advanced every one

Could be your meds or could just be your body reacting to the stress and pain. I get them sometimes too, especially when I have tried to do too much. I increased my yoga time yesterday and then was in bed most of the day with a low grade fever. One of the theories behind fibro is that it is caused by a virus, namely EBV or something in that family of viruses so it makes sense that some hot flashes or low grade fever would sometimes accompany it. If it continues I would definitely talk to your doc. Hope you have a cool night.

Savella made me flash like crazy, sweat like a pig, and flush like a school girl..... BUT I've been off of it for quite some time and still have those symptoms. My extremities are always freezing, so much to the point my old doc was tossing around Bergers (because my gram had it) but I am not a smoker. Hopefully, it's just a temporary side effect for you, but make sure you tell your doc about any new symptoms you're experiencing.

I will definatly tell my Dr on the 7th just hate these hot flashes and my feet feel like ice. Just no fun now i will admit i fell a lot better since starting the savella pain is a lot more managable but i hate the side affects of the savella expecualy the nausea but usualy only get is for a hour or two right after taking it so i can live with it just no fun I hate felling this way and I just fell like less of a man becuase i cant take pain any more my wife or my doughter can just barly touch me and it fells like a knife going through me i just hate it

Savella is well known for causing major sweating, even when your feet are freezing! If you look at the drug monograph, one of the top reasons people stopped taking it during clinical trials was the sweating.

I'm always hot, but the Savella made it unbearable, and it never seemed to get any better. It continued for a month after I stopped it. I also had severe side effects from it, most likely Serotonin Syndrome, that was like the pits of hell for the entire summer. That was unusual for me, because I have been on a "cocktail" of different serotonin drugs for many many years without a problem. I'm glad it works so well for others, but now I have to try and find something else, and I had such high hopes !! Just pay attention to your body, and keep a record of anything different that occurs for your doctor. You might want to call them now anyway to report this, he may have a solution, and it should be noted as soon as you experience it.

Sorry to the bearer of bad news, wishing you un-sweaty luck !

Hugs,

Renie

I get them but it's from one of my meds. It has been getting worse.
