Good Sunday morning everyone. I am curious if anyone has a hot tub in your home, or one available, and if it helps? My legs ache and throb 24/7. (It’s a good day when that’s all that hurts…lol). I live in northern Michigan and I can barely walk in the winter. I wondered if it would be worth the investment.
Thanks for your input. Hope everyone is having a good weekend.

I have told my Husband every year for 4 years that I was going to buy a hot tub!!!! Long before I was diagnosed my body hurt after coming home from work... I would soak in Epsom Salt baths... I kept saying how I wished I had a hot tub to get in after a long day or night... the massaging, hot water...OHHHHHH my goodness!!!!
My inexperienced advice on this subject would be a HUGE YES!!!! I cannot see where it would hurt at all. Although remember that even that is only a temporary relief. My back gets knotted up and my legs get weak and swollen... shoot every part of my body aches after I get off work...ahhhh to come home to a hot tub is my DREAM!!!! LOL
I lived in the UP from 1976-2012. I feel your pain. We had a hot tub. It helped me relax but the heated water almost felt like it hurt me more. In the winters when it got cold and if I had pain I would lay under my heating blanket. That helped more for me. And everyone is different. I live in Virginia now and the winters are more mild. Good luck to you:)
I used a hot tub before bed on vacation back in April this year. I had never used one before. I went to bed feeling great. I was so relaxed. I hadv'e felt so good in I can't remember when. It was like all the pain was gone. Like I was normal. Then somewhere in the middle of the night, I woke up in extreme pain, so much worse than when I went to bed. I couldn't get back to sleep I hurt so bad. I finally realized that the hot tub hadn't caused so much pain, it was just my normal pain had came back. The effects of the hot tub had worn off. It showed me what I should feel like and how much this condition has sucked from my life. I am still thinking about getting one because it felt great, even if just for a little bit. But I am back and forth between a hot tub and an indoor pool. They make some small indoor pools meant to exercise in. Thinking I could put it in the basement and work out all year long. First I have to pay off my sleep number bed before I can get anything else, though.
Thanks for your responses! Heat does help me so it’s still a good thought. My husband works at Home Depot and he sees them in clearance now and then. He is really trying to talk me into one thinking it will help me. I think he wants one so he can use it himself. Lol.

I spoke with my doctor a few years ago about buying one and if it would help and she told me the length of time in one is what can make a difference any thing over 15 min would probably cause the pain to come back worst hours later. i think it would be great and the hubby would probably enjoy it after a long days work. Let us know what you decide.
You should try one before you invest and we can react differently to the same things. I think I get as much relief just sitting in a tub with Epson salt as I do if I run the jets. Cant do really hot water. I don't handle the heat well at all.
I live in Wisconsin, so like you I suffer through the long, cold winters. Sitting in a whirlpool bath helps me a great deal in the winter. I have tried whirlpools at my health club and at hotels while traveling. The problem is usually the water is too hot. Luckily we bought a condo last year that has a step in bath with a whirlpool feature. Being able to control the water temperature has made all the difference.
