I’m afraid to get optimistic.
I was diagnosed with fibro in November(kind of, by my gyne) after 2 surgeries that led to a hysterectomy. Then officially by a Rheumatologist in April 2015. So obviously very new to this. I’ve been on Cymbalta, and increasing doses of lyrica. 75-150. And now 3 days ago increased to 225. Before this last dose increase, I was not dealing well at all. Constant pain everywhere. My poor kids haven’t had much of a summer. I was talking to my boss about a reduction of hours at work.
But the last 3 days, I’ve felt pretty good. My pain is very manageable. There are many times throughout the day that I can say that I don’t have pain. But, I do have these all over body nerve shocks (?). Like the shocking adrenaline feeling before someone is going to hit you but they don’t. Just the nerve feeling rushing through my body. No jumping or anything. If I’m walking, it feels like my feet aren’t touching the ground for a few steps. Weird. Is this a new dosage increase lyrica thing or a fibro thing I wasn’t noticing b/c of the pain?
Most importantly, can a lyrica dosage change work that fast? Am I just having good days? I just want to know what to expect.
Thanks in advance Ladies and Gents.
Jennifer
Hello Jennifer,
Glad to hear you have had 3 good days with little or no pain. Whatever the reason ( and who knows with this tricky condition) enjoy and embrace it. P'raps others taking cymbalta and lyrica can be more informative about this.
As for the adrenaline feeling and nerve feeling, I have that more since I stopped amitritylene, makes me feel restless. I do think that is a fibro symptom, but don't know why you are noticing it. Best check with Doc.
Take care, Anne
Thank you for your feedback, Anne. I really do appreciate it.
Hi Jennifer, that is great that you are having some good days. I myself have experienced a number of overall "good" years with good management of symptoms so it definitely is possible. Regarding the electric shocks, that can be a sign of Fibro but best to check with your doctor. It could be related to medication, everyone acts differently. It also could be something else entirely which is why it is a good idea to check with your doctor. Thanks for posting about the good days, it is wonderful to hear things like this! Hugs.
Thank you Auburnm.
Hi my name is Debbie ive had fibromyalgia for 10 years plus. None of the fibromyalgia meds worked I had horrible reactions from them. Some people don't have any results for a month. You have to understand that more pain is brought on by stress and weather related. I hope this helps you. Try to stay Way from people thAt cause you stress
Hi my name is Debbie and I've been suffering with fibromyalgia for 10 years plus. The pain is very bad in the summer. The humidity only intensifies the pain. I also suffer with Tmj, irritable bowel syndrome, neck and excruciating back pain. I also found out in December I have breast cancer. I had surgery and the got all of it for now. But not 100% sure it won't come back. I have very bad days. Lost my father in March. I took care of him worked a full time job plus dealing with all my illness.
I hope you guys are all having a better day. Take care
If the shock is from the fibro, you may not have noticed it because of the pain or it may just be a new symptom. That’s the fun thing about this disorder (sarcasm); it likes to surprise you.
Thank you, ladies.
The surprise really good days have faded away along with the weird nerve waves. Who knows? Maybe it was a new dosage thing.
