2023-02-22, Wednesday - Energy 10%

Successes: :trophy: :zap: I feel a bit foolish - I just realized my lips hurt more from how/much I’m drinking at the moment…
The 3L is mainly almond milk/drink, partly soy, recently trying millet.
But all in single mouthfuls/gulps, 1-2 per capsule directly out of a tetra pak.
The lid of the sort I buy at the moment has a double-winding fairly sharp “thread”,
and to keep mishaps down I put my lips tightly around it (and even often close it after every gulp).
So 100-200 gulps = rasps per day… :rolleyes: . Let’s see if it improves at last…
Feels nice and luxurious to drink out of a cup, but a bit dangerous at first, so I’ll keep to the kitchen…

Learnt: :student: Stearic acid as a filler isn’t too bad, see research.

Triggers & resulting Symptoms

JAB#3 (on Nov 7th) causing MCAS / histamine problems, esp. energy narrowed to (10-)15-20%, decreased to mostly 10-15% in January.From Feb 3rd on: 10% energy. Cold tolerance good, just not my fingertips.

JAB#3 (on Nov 7th) → MCAS / histamine since end of Dec: 15-20% energy for under 45’, then white lips & pale face. But if I keep strain down to ‘half speed’ (70%) I can push on thru for hours - with a few breaks and lots of task-switching. Not that much specifically histaminey problems since end of Dec, occasionally sinuses and nausea, no more ill ache. Usually white lips & face 30%, and some sliding instead of walking indoors 10%, bit more cold intolerance 30% (long johns 24/7, 2 thick duvets at night). From Jan on, bit warmer (5-12° C), I’ve swapped long johns for a 2nd pair of pyjama trousers at night and when I’m pretty active at daytime sometimes no long johns, but when out slow cycling/walking. And don’t need hot water bottles any more, whether I can manage a cold shower (usually) or not.
Development summarized: Down: Nov 17th - Dec 1st, worst 17th-18th, best 20th & 29th. Up: Dec 2nd-6th, Down 7th-8th, Up: 9th-14th, best 13th-14th: Winning easily 4:0, and slow energy for 4h! Down: 15th-21st 7 days, Up 22nd to 24th winning roughly 3:1, Unsure: 25th-31st: TT 2:2 or no play possible: 25th 2:2(?), (26th 0), 27th: 2:2, (28th 0 - ordered supps, not cellar), Down: 1st-2nd, 4th. Up: 3rd, 5th. Both: 6th-11th - sinuses, tongue, lips, runny, DAO helping. Cold: 12th. 13th: GI: HP supps? 14th: B3-Flushing up!? 15th: Runny nose, 16th-21st & 25th-26th…: Tongue off and on. 23rd-25th: Sore buttock (& leg) muscles like after the jabs since 23rd. 26th: Cold, pain & fatigue, energy from 18% to 10% since 19th. Triggers tooth cleaning and moving out. 27th: Bad. 28th: Bad to better. 29th: OK, considering. 30th: No burning after 200g baked beans, but a bit, later, after then another 50g, short colon sting praps from the tomatoes, no stronger urge from them tho. 31st: Still haven’t regained appetite. From Feb 3rd on: 10% energy. Cold tolerance good, just not my fingertips. 8th: Bit of tongue after red beans, but OK. Feb 12th 6:00: Stronger histamine-y symptoms and stomach pang. Feb 15th: strong headache evening and night probably from red beans without DAO, praps also the sinus burning. Feb 18th: More energy for the first time. Very red lips, looking inflamed, go white when I press them together.

Treatments: Antihistamine, and extra GABA from Nov 29th. Stopping the antihistamine at the turn of the year quickly caused sleep problems.

SLEEP (click for details): 7h44, up 4x (38'), almost all deep ✅ ➔ Feeling 80% well, Ache 2 of 7 ✅, getting up: 80%/1 ✅. Nostrils 5-15% stuffy 100% of the night. Stomach up to 25% at 5. Excited to get stuff done 2-3x, pressure to get to sleep quickly using Yoga Nidra was a bit counter-productive.

Jaw: Hardly & seldom pain since Nov. A bit more in Jan. Jan 6th: Slightly psychosomatic from memory of a painful time. Jan 10th: A bit after tooth cleaning. After: regularly a little bit, 1-2x/d. Better since improving tooth care again and giving that side of the jaw a rest from chewing for a few days from Feb on.

Alternative health practitioner (“Heilpraktiker”) on Dec 6th+20th: Jan 6th: Started masterwort & Hexacyl, lower than recommended (2x1 drop each), adding 1/d. 9th: Further research after reply to take manganese and vit. Feb 1st: Still no appetite, so put new drops away. Feb 3rd: Starting to eat/feel a bit better without the new practitioner’s recommendations.
Chinese Acupuncturist - Session #32 on Nov 4th., after 14 days :white_check_mark: “Energy still pretty stable at 20%, despite jab-nausea…”, now it’s down from that so often that I tried #33 22nd Dec. Wasn’t worth it: No improvement, sleep too short.

Development

I’m still doing what I can which means I’m “shuffling thru the day”, doing a lot of stuff, but very slowly. Weirdly usually winning at table tennis, when it’s possible at all, so it’s not affecting my fine motor skills, I seem to be playing better by not thinking about it, so I’m not sure about the fog. My language is getting more confused and regular mishaps. Today I felt better during table tennis than before, so we went for 3 games, instead of the 1 that I’d planned, and feared a backlash: Didn’t seem a problem tho!?

After back exercises Tuesday evening I felt like having a go at push ups cos I felt my arm muscles might be able to, but something in the ball of my left hand was hurting, partly right, so I stopped after 4. My body’s changing except my radical acceptance of it, and joy of life… My ambition later got the better of me and I tried the push ups again, and easily managed 10 quick ones by going easy on both thumb/hand balls (w?) which of course means increased strain on the arm muscles - but no problem, feels good, oxygen/lungs good too, just now both hands hurting a bit… The wrist joints have absolutely no problem, I guess it’s once against the tendons above and below. That’s also the feeling I had before starting the push ups, so I waited and tensed up a bit before starting to “warm them up” a bit, otherwise it’d’ve ended same as before.
Weird, but fun!
‘Research’ today:

Stearic acid and magnesium stearate as lubricant in supps

I’m not saying I don’t tolerate it, just the severity of my symptoms despite the amount I do makes me as careful as possible. And that’s the bottom line of my research now too… it seems safe for non-intolerant people:
I’ve looked at 3 balanced “pro” pages (1, 2, 3) and one fairly balanced German “con” page, very interesting to me
Stearic acid is actually found in foods, esp. meat and dairy. Possible dangers, like skin irritation, inhibited absorption of nutrients or T-cell suppression, were only found in small old animal studies using incredibly high doses. Magnesium stearate is an artificial compound of 4% magnesium with stearic acid which is quickly turned into stearic acid in the body. Some people say the stearate being artificial is an additional problem, but that would apply to many magnesium compounds, like the MIT-developed threonate. Stearic acid and stearates are both used as lubricants which help keep mixed substances, incl. supps, evenly distributed, plus keep the machines clean, which makes those supps cheaper. Stearic acid from meat and dairy would be a problem for strict vegans, and from plants will be from pesticide-laden cottonseed oil, only a problem for people trying to avoid all pesticides, which isn’t possible anyway, here the quercetin would need to be pesticide-free organic. (When supps are called organic that almost always just means non-synthetic, up to now I’ve only found 2-3 organic supps here in Germany.)
So it generally is well tolerated - aside however from people with allergies or oversensitivities to it, which I can’t remember having seen yet. Of my 50 supps, honokiol/magnolia bark is the only one I can’t find without stearate. I’ll be using it less warily now, despite eating “90%” vegan and “98%” organic (except almost all supps!).
