2022-04-16, Saturday 20%, praps increasing to 25% in the evening. - maybe cos of overdoing it yesterday, as it’s warmer again and I’m struggling with exhaustion despite suppleness. And of course Thursday’s acupuncture; maybe/hope my body just has to get used to it again?

Short breaks stop the pain again. :x:. Have I mentioned that my arm, hand & wrist pain while cycling has improved, better for a few weeks now I think?

Chinese Acupuncturist - 14th: Feeling worse on Friday plus 3 focal seizures show that serotonin was changed. Slight seizures had also sometimes been occurring during the session, more than during acupressure sessions. Looking it up (again) I found it may decrease histamine (but the acupuncture points contain increased mast cells, so watch out what that may effect in) Acupuncture as effective as (some) antihistamines | Healing Histamine and increases serotonin:

Conclusion: I need to decrease GABA as well as the antihistamine supps (like I’ve already stopped the antihistamine itself). Overdoing it I did have some histaminey sinus “stress”, so not too quickly or much.
Next acupuncture: Tuesday, 19th.
Also on 2022-01-10 I’d found “acupuncture improves cytokines, e.g. Effect of acupuncture on inflammatory cytokines expression of spastic cerebral palsy rats - PubMed”. It also says there acupressure decreases histamine: Expert acupuressure wasn’t working at all, but self-applied helps/-ed.
Here was the Hoffman list A-&B-Team. I could keep up quercetin, ginkgo, pycnogenol vit. C, but take down EGCg, chamomile tea, luteolin, silymarin, ellagic acid, honokiol/magnolia and partheolide/feverfew first. If I don’t take down GABA yet: Tuesday morning at the latest!

My wife has started comparing this Fatigue incl. increased Fog to some of my worst pain moments 2 years ago and is blaming the acupuncture. I think more fitting is comparison not with the pain moments, it’s the zombification & feverishness (meaning unrestorative sleep) due to melatonin and CBD oil last April. What I did then was stop both and take up GABA. But I have already stopped passiflora and luteolin. As I’m wary of increasing GABA even more, and less didn’t work, what I could try now is stop glutamine, however that could unbalance the GABA. Or what if I just stop everything, to see what happens? But 8 days ago I was OK, then Wednesday, before acupuncture it went down a bit for the first time, up again from acupuncture, then downhill since then.
Acupuncture:
Acupuncture #9 on 29th: 10->20%, 30th: 20%, 31st: 20%, 1st: 20%, 2nd: 20%,
= 4 days up at 20% agility.
3rd: 25% (cortisol), 4th: 25%, 5th: 25%, 6th: 25%, 7th: 25%, 8th: 25%,
= 6 days up at 25% agility.
9th: 30%, 10th: 30%, 11th: 30%, 12th: 30%,
= 4 days even higher at 30% agility.
13th: 20%, why down? I was thinking because I needed a session, but:
Acupuncture #10 on 14th: 30%, 15th: 20% (30%), 16th: 20%, 17th: 25%, 18th: 20%,
Acupuncture #11 on 19th: 15%, 20th: 10%.
Acupuncture #12 on 21st: 10 → 20% (like #9?!).
Alternative explanations aren’t sensible:
Or was I overdoing it? on the 10th, 14th, 15th and 17th? I don’t think so. And why would it take 3 days for the 10th to hit home? Or for the 14th-17th? That would be very unusual for me.
Weather? has been getting slowly “better”, not worse. (Moon?: Waning, for those who believe in the moon, I don’t ever see any connection for me, so I’m just bashing that one.)
OK, I assume I need to take the supps and just get earlier sleep.

Whether or not before was from overdoing it, it got worse from acupuncture #11, so this’d all be very long term.

Terms:

I’m now starting to note my alertness - I was going to say “mental ability”, then mental agility, but maybe the words agility for physical and alertness for mental capacity are clearest. German Mobilität and Wachheit = mobility and awakeness. Praps mobility is better than agility, at least these are two totally different things, I can be very agile, esp. for short periods, it’s got more to do with stiffness than with fatigue/energy.

23:50 only managing to doze - the weekend music workshop start I went to from 19:00 to 20:00 was too stirring. Too many things/decisions/worries like 20 people in one room, me asking for people to wear masks near me, but still feels uncomfy both ways, don’t know what my role can be there as I can only take part for an hour or two at a time, also having to say I can’t eat with them (cos of CoV, diet, break need, “stress”). This was all actually not stressful, but nice, but I just am not able to do things like that easily since fibro, it was a calculated risk. End of the story: I probably won’t be continuing the workshop.

Have to tally the development since last time I did that, under “Development” on the 21st, copied it here. % = energy (fits better than agility/mobility).

Chinese Acupuncturist - Slightly better :face_with_monocle: from #13, 26th, but getting worse throughout the day. Charted up the energy-effect of the acupuncture. It’s been improving gut and sleep also and enabled me to stop taking the antihistamine, which is all not shown in this chart. The blue spots are where I had acupuncture, a double spot is when she started doubling needles by putting 20+ on my back. Red is the amount of energy, going up from 5% to 30% and at the moment back down to 20/15%…

Psychologist: After I’d talked about asking myself whether saying goodbye to my supposed dream job is so easy because it was only a fake dream job, we agreed that just because it was a challenge and a strain doesn’t at all make it less than a dream job, quite to the contrary. Next appt when I feel I need it.

’Research’ today: Someone mentioned Mickel Therapy, something I’d seen mentioned a few days ago. I’ve watched and read up it’s a form of talk therapy touted in England by David Mickel, with high claims and normal prices for talk therapy for ‘lumped together fatigue disorders’ ME & CFS & FM. This I think, like is also said by other docs in the vid, is something we can get in any talk therapy. If Mickel himself says in it that he has the hypothesis that it’s about coming to terms with emotions that are causing a hypothalamus problem, then the hypothalamus part is indeed very much a hypothesis, whilst the talk therapy can help some of us. I’ve been using it as a nice extra, had to shop around to find someone right for me tho. Maybe with Mickel therapy we have people who at least are heading in the right direction.

but Ache/feverishness still high. 16:30 small focal seizure means overdose, drat… - but to tell the truth I prefer a few seizures to being able to move less… :face_with_monocle: - but next is trying to balance it out again with glutamine and/or theanine… that’s easier done than said or thought: +.3g glutamine for starters, since I’ve taken 2x theanine at 11:35, last glutamine (.3g) was at 0:30.
I’m increasing GABA, and breath-holding; praps vit. D, praps NAC. If none of that works, back on antihistamine. Knowing that increased pee pain (yesterday) means serotonin is down I tried increasing GABA. This has greatly increased pain, energy, feeling well, as well as body “temperature”: I was freezing yesterday and cold the days before. Just gotta watch out for serotonin syndrome…

Development

More GABA together with the acupuncture. Discovered it a year ago, starting at .75g, overdosed it a few months later at 2.0g (serotonin syndrome), but increased a bit by upping other amino acids to 2.0g, had to up it to 2.4g due to jab-triggered MCAS-flare, and today upping to 2.8 - so have to watch closely not to overdose, but it’s helping energy, if not Ache & feverishness.

’Research’ today: Anxiety is higher in FM, but studies vary considerably.

Lessons in self-care #293 Looking after myself by sleeping as long as I need to but getting up if I’m wide awake. That seems to be working. And being up so long has become rare since MCAS, and not suprising considering the wonky but adapting neurotransmitters.

Interestingly, I saw the orange spots, docs say probably iron deposits, on my legs seem considerably reduced by about 20%. She says that “is” = might be the acupuncture, as that helps with skin problems… I’m not convinced yet :face_with_monocle:.
