AS well upped the meloxicam to 15mg and said to try cope with pain as best i can, it jsut so frustarting i do have Tramadol i can take 1x a day it just not helping! that much,

There days i am normal me nothing even remotely wrong, then there day where it feel like crawling on the floor to get to anywhere in room but then i have to try get up ..(so no crawling) then there times that i give up jsut lay in bed and try hard not to move.

Anyway Does anyone know anything i can use over counter to help? cream or rubs or patch thingy?

i jsut want to be able to sit up watch tv on bad flare up days try not to cry.

I am so sorry you have to go thru this!!! I use the heating pad or I use a frozen pad, the creams don't work for me & I still have my heating blanket on my bed!!! I have used that the past 3 days! Others will write to you soon w/their experiences. M

Hi Happybunny,

I hate the very place in a person where they can come out with such a stupid comment as "try to cope with the pain." Really??? Why? Why not just admit that as a doctor, they are flummoxed? That's more truthful than to toss the ball back in your court, assuming that if you just trrrrrrrrrrrryyyyyyyy a little bit harder that you'll lose that pain!

In addition, my best friend is an ice pack. It helps to bring down inflammation. I also use SalonPas pain patches, slapping a lot of them on in the painful area. i also just rock back and forth when it's too bad. It helps me to relax a bit.

Wish I had a MUCH better solution for you. but please keep pushing for something to help you if the Gabapentin doesn't help. Doctors can get complacent and only try one or two things. My doc went through a boatload before we reached Lyrica. And if you meet financial criteria, you can get at least six months of it for free: https://www.rxhope.com/PAP/info/PAPList.aspx?drugid=4529&fieldType=drugid

As I've had Fibro for years, I'm on pretty strong narcotics, and have graduated beyond rubs, Ice packs, etc...Unfortunately, my doc has just recently said the same thing to me as well. for a bday gift, a friend of mine had given me a rub called topricin, from whole Foods. Its an absolute miracle! It has no smell, doesnt feel hot or cold. Its pricey, but worth it.

well meloxicam is a nsaid like motrin for arthritis, and tramadol is an opiod like vicodin, gabapentin im on it 400 x3 it does absolutetly nothing for me but its commonly used as a cure all for nerve pain and leflunomide is also for arthritis pain could be that theyre not giving you enough for nerve pain which is what they say fibro actually is ?

WOW i checked it out and your right it is expensive but i am worth every lil ounce! lol Topricin Anti-Inflammatory Pain Relief Cream Tube. 2 oz. $14.99 @ walgreens where i got it but you right oo la la !
