I used to be able to remember everything. I was the one to ask, and I could tell. It seems like I can’t remember a dang thing anymore.
Yeah I hear you. I have taken to writing everything down (i mean EVERYTHING) I have a shorthand pad with me all the time. Works fairly well. Hope it helps.
Looks like I better start doing that myself.
Hi Tarra,
So sorry you are having memory problems, have you talked to your doctor? Mine sent me for some neuro testing. Also, some meds do have memory problems as a side effect. Your doctor might be able to help. I think mine is due to meds.
Hope you get to the root of the problem.
Gentle hugs.

I know what you mean. I used to remember some of the oddest things. I had a great memory. Now I fell like and idiot. I too keep a note pad handy as I have to write everything down. Best of luck
I went to my dr last summer thinking I had the beginning of dementia. I was crying in his office, terrified!! Ends up, its my fibro fog. I can’t remember things, and cannot always finish my sentence because I lose my train of thought. For me, it wasn’t dementia, wasn’t meds, wasn’t menopause…fibro fog.
Think mine may be a combination of medschool and fibro fog.
Medicine and fibro fog lol autocorrect.
I find this to be an issue for me as well. I write everything down. They say fibro fog is what it is. Plays havoc on my martial arts at times. LOL (When I get to make it)
I just can’t do the things I used to do because I cannot remember and multitask. I can’t write things down because things happen so quickly and many people are talking and wanting things simultameously. . I’ve stepped down at work and it bothers me that I had to. I say I wanted to step down when people ask why I did, but truth is, I couldn’t do my job. Sorry, I know how I sound…sorry…I really am grateful for my life and for what i can do.
GGrrrrrrr…Have a wonderful day, Everyone!!

Jane,
There is nothing wrong with stepping down on your own terms! And those that ask don't really need to know what is going on. You can still work and that is a wonderful thing because some can't and are struggling financially. I too can still work at the moment, but I have learned how to delegate some of the tasks that are given to me by my boss to others. This helps tremendously! As far as it bothering you....well let's face it, none of us like not being able to do the things we used to do. It literally stinks! So you have a right for it to bother you! Just don't let it consume you! Have a wonderful day Jane!

I know. I felt so bad this morning. There is a new at work. I was introduced to her yesterday and this morning I had to ask her again what her name was. I felt horrible.
*new lady at work *
My mult-tasking skills are way down, which does cause problems for me at work. Makes it harder to keep up and a lot more stressful.
It definitely does make things more difficult! And people don't understand at all. Not even family members.
Tarra,
don't feel bad at all! You were just introduced to her. I take martial arts (when I can handle it) and I am a training instructor...that's my goal after I get my black belt is to become an instructor. Anyway, I go to our dojang every Wednesday to work with the after school kids and I can't remember half of their names and I have been doing this and working with majority of these kids for 2yrs now. Talk about feeling awful!! Plus there are times I am the highest belt and have to bow the class in, do you think after 3yrs of repeating the same creed I can remember? Oh no, not me....I get it all jumbled or actually draw a blank. I laugh about it, but the truth is that it bothers me beyond belief! You are not alone my friend! #gentlehugstoyou

Most of us have memory problems that seem to get worst when we are tired. Try writing things down in a little note book. I have stopped using names and just talk to people. My mom has a lady give her a bath every Tuesday she has been coming here for the last several months I still caint remember her name.

hi, jane. I have fibro plus other conditions mostly a severe brain injury . A lot of the same symptoms. I was told I had dementia and freaked out. Then, I looked it up and it means a loss of brain function, which the brain injury , fibro, and other conditions I have. I was so relieved that it didn't mean crazy , and doesn't mean it has to be advanced
Yes. I hear you. I am quite frankly scared that I am losing my marbles and getting dementia because several times when I was driving, I could not remember where the heck I was! This in addition to not being able to remember words on a very regular basis. And like you, I had a wicked good memory when I was young.
In your case, maybe it's fatigue? You may not even realize how fatigued you are. Do you find that it's worse when you are tired? If you're not sure, maybe you could keep a diary and keep track of the days when it hits you and if you're fatigued during those times or if something else happened on or around rhose days.
All of that being said, it sukks to have this happen. So you have my sympathy. Completely.
