Muscle Twitching

Anyone have twitching of the muscles in the arms and legs? This drives me crazy/

I do once I fall asleep. Last night my legs and torso jumped right up in the air! Other times it's just twitches in the legs. I don't know if my meds cause it or make it worse but I never noticed it until getting on meds. But it's really weird. It's like someone's poked you in a sensitive spot, causing the limb to twitch or jump. Very strange!

With me it is like the muscle just keeps twitching - the fibers. Very annoying,

Sounds almost like a tic. I do believe others have experienced it as you have. Let's see what they have to say.

i too suffer with this. i assumed it was really bad muscle spasms. one of my drs who i cant afford had stearted me on klonpin. it worked great but my pcp wont refill it. the med is in the anixetty class of meds but worked great and it helped me sleep.

like Petunia mine seem to come once i am in bed. i have had them durning the day if i have done too much. its crazy watching my legs just jump. it seems to be more in my back and legs then my arms but i have had them there too.

one night i was at my friends house spending the night and my friend had gotten up and went in the living room to watch tv cause she couldnt sleep. (she has lupus so many nights she is up in pain) anyways i didnt have the klonpin since i couldnt get a refil. well my friend ended up with the police at her door cause the neighbor(she lives in an apartment) called the police because he kept hearing banging on the wall. so she ask the cop why he was at her door at such a hour and he told her the neighbor had called about the noise. the cop asked if everything was ok and what was causing the noise. she led the cop to her room where i was dead asleep and they realized my spasms in my legs were so bad that i was kicking the wall and my friend didnt hear it over the tv. the cop could not believe what he saw. he asked my friend does this happen alot and she said ya and he said and she just sleeps thru it and my friend laughed and said yup. i guess the cop left shaking his head in disbelief.

so that being said if u know u have these twitchs/spasms and wonder why u never feel rested this could be happening to u and unless u happen to share a bed with someone u may never know. kinda scary what our bodies do in our sleep.

i notice the more i do during the day the worse the spasms r at night. there may be other meds that can help i only know of the klonpin which helped me.

Well, it might explain why my fiancee complains that I slam by bed on the arm in the middle of the night, all the time. I have no recollection of doing this in the morning. However the other day, I was lying in bed reading and my left arm just whipped off my chest where it was resting. Thanks for the responses.

I also get twitching muscles, especially in my legs. It seems to have increased since starting lyrica. Interesting stuff..

Emma- I just started lyrica a few weeks ago and I too think its from the med. I can’t stand it! I take klonopin at night for TMJ and RLS but this feels completely different from the restless leg stump or muscle aches. And, I’m only taking 25 mg! I’ve stopped my morning dose because I can’t work with it, nor do I like the increased brain fog. It’s like we’re substituting one symptom for another!

I am new here but I too have twitching. Mine started above my left eye before the pain set in and before I was diagnosed... it was also in my legs and it moved to below my eye. The twitch above my eye lasted well over a month and it stopped only after a severe headache behind the left eye and back of my head...I had been on Cymbalta for almost a week at that time. Now I have twitching in my legs, ankles, neck, face, back, stomach... heck I feel twitching everywhere. I am concerned that I may have been misdiagnosed...I will be seeing a Neurologist about this just to be on the safe side...
