Does anyone else experience twitching muscles? I have been dealing with various body parts twitching for a couple weeks now. It doesn’t hurt, yet, but it is very uncomfortable. It started out as small twitches, in my hand or arm, sometimes my foot. Now it’s getting bigger, my thighs, back, hips, even neck. It doesn’t last long but it is noticeable to other people. It gets worse when I lay down, too. What do you do to try to ease this? Should I expect it to get worse? I don’t really want to take any more meds, so any suggestions would be awesome.
I've had muscle twitches for some time, in my face (around eyes and cheeks), hands, forearms, legs. The Gabapentin has taken these away, haven't had any since shortly after starting taking it, same for my muscle pain. They are annoying but thankfully not painful. I would rather have my twitches and muscle pain back and give my joint pain in return.
Unfortunately I only have really one suggestion, since you don't want more meds, can't say I blame you. Do muscle stretches and massage the twitching area as it is happening. May not be possible at all times, but is worth the try.
Hi, yes I do get them allot daily even and I am getting very annoyed with it..its even worse at nite I get how you feel and nothing seems to work for it so I just try to deal with it...so far no one has notice except my husband at nite.
If you find something that work I would like to know and thanks for sharing :)...I do hope it gets better for you tho.
I get them and hate it when I can’t stretch immediately. It usually helps. My worst are at night. If I can get to sleep they wake me up through out the night. Hot Epsom salt baths help and I always stretch before bed.
Yes, I do have muscle twitches mostly when I am sitting down, also when I lie down. My twitches are not hurtful or painful so I don't worry about them. I might ask my doctor about them when I go to see her Monday.
Muscle spasms are a different story because they do hurt some of them quite bad for the moment.
I am taking magnesium too so they are not caused by an absence of that.
Thank you, everybody. I am happy to know I am not alone. I have found that massage and stretching does help at times. If I find any other solutions or relief, I will be sure to let you know!
I have the bad, especially at night, my doctor thinks it may be medicine related or stress. Either it’s a new symptom or from medicine. I have had a EEG and nothing.
I have had a lot of trouble with muscle twitches and spasms and some caused me to fall or drop things. I read about someone taking a muscle relaxant for these spasms so I asked my doctor about it and she was will to let me try it. It works like a charm. I still have them occasionally but they are not as painful and I don't fall nearly as often. It also helps with pain that I get from "over using" my muscles and it has reduced my falling and dropping things. The worst ones are when my eyelid twitches, I just hate it when that starts.
