Hi Eve,

I just joined too. Welcome! Everyone has been very nice. It is a challenge because family and friends can only listen so much. I recently lost my biggest support (she just decided she couldn't deal with my stuff and checked out without even warning me or telling me) so I am pretty afraid to be too honest with the people in my life now. It is important to be open so that we can all help ourselves be all that we can!!

Hi Eve and welcome! We're glad you're here and hope you find hope and inspiration from these "pages." You'll see yourself everywhere on them. And we're happy to try and help you. It's easier to deal with fibro when you know others with it. We know that you're telling the truth. We know how bad the pain can be. It's good to pool our knowledge and help one another as best we can.

I hope you come back and visit us again. It's a good place to be.

Hi Susan,

Welcome here as well! I'm sorry to hear about the loss of your friend. It's got to be hard to lose your pal, especially when she didn't tell you that she was going. I think that when things shake out, we end up with the people we're supposed to be with. But I can see why you're afraid to share your stuff with others. No one likes rejection.

However, the people here know you're telling the truth and we don't get upset when you talk about your fibro. And so many of us have had the same thing happen. People treat fibro like they used to treat people with mental illness. It's so frustrating to know that they believe us on everything but this, and think we're just whining about nothing. IF ONLY THEY KNEW! But I doubt they could handle it like we can because we're darned flexible people, and darned tough, too.

So that's my pep talk for you! :-) I hope some of it resonates with you and you feel like you can come here and talk to us about your illness.

Welcome Eve! So glad you found us. This is a great group, they are always here to listen and give you support. I can't always get online and after a few days realize how much I miss hearing from everyone. Keep in touch and never be afraid to ask questions and vent when you need to.Warm hugs...
