Peeling hands

Here lately, my hands have been peeling like crazy. Is this a symptom of FMS OR CFS? Could this be a side effect of medication?

This could be an allergic reaction to medications. I believe you should seek medical advice without delay.

Hi Woolybear, I agree, this could potentially be a side effect of medication, especially if you started a new med recently or changed doses. I would recommend contacting your doctor or pharmacist as soon as you can.

Actually, I started a new med after he took me off one. I was on gabapentin 300mg once a day and tramadol 50mg 3x a day. The tramadol caused me horriblle side effects. He took me off it. Then he told me to take the gabapentin 300mg 2x a day. That put me to sleep in the daytime. He took me off that. So now I take gabapentin 100mg in the am and 300mg before I go to bed!! It has worked very well, I must say!! Will definitely call the office though, just to be safe!! So, I've had both a new med and a change in doses!! Thanks so much!!

I agree it could be a reaction to some thing see the doctor.

Just called the doctors office, talked to Angie (his nurse). She said she will get with him and see what they can do. She said it's not uncommon for that to happen and that he would probably just have me use a skin cream of some sort. Thank you!! Hope you and all your friends and family have a FABULOUS Thanksgiving!!

So glad that you checked with your doctor’s office;here’s to hoping that we all have a great Thanksgiving!

Thank you so much!!

What amazes me most about the people on this website is that they are so caring, friendly, open and thoughtful!!!!

It also helps that we can help each other without having to explain to everybody what we are going through, dealing with or whatever else the case may be!!

you might have psoriasis or the autoimmune disease of it..which includes arthritis pain.

Sorry...i cut my index finger deeply last night and it is in much pain...so stitches..point is brain is not working well so name of that autoimmune disease not coming. Common and there is treatment....

But just reg psoriasis that is what happens..my sister had it...her feet and palms of hands. Plus painful at times. Now she found out she has RA in her late 50's...both me and my brother though have had autoimmune diseases most if not all our lives.

wish you best and sure it can be reaction to pills or many other things as well..hope it is easiest to treat!
