I have severe pain in my hips and my arm and shoulder…I use heating pad and helps some but there’s nothing that really takes completley away…if u find something else let me know too:)

My pain always starts in my right hip, it's severe as well. I also use a hitting pad, heating blanket or take a hot bath to help take my mind off the pain. Please let us know if you find something else.
Heat does not always work for me. I have severe pain in my hips, feels like my bone is deteriorating. I get my best results from ice packs, and Aleve. But also, I am one of the odd balls, where warm weather hurts me and cold weather soothes me…so that may be why the ice packs help me!
Good luck!!! Prayers for you!!
I have hip pain most of the time. It goes from my hip down to my feet. It is so intense that I just want to cry! I normally take a vicodin when that occurs, that at least takes the pain away for a little while.
I have the hip pain also. The only thing I have found to help it is pain meds, a warm epsom salt bath and laying in bed on my back.
I too have hip pain and I find if I sit or lie too long, it hurts more I do gentle stretching exercises to stay limber. If I don’t do them I gets worse. I usually heat up the hips before I stretch. I can’t take NSAIDs or pain meds so this is what helps daily. If it gets too bad, it’s usually because the nerves surrounding the sacroiliac joints are inflamed and I need a steroid injection into that area. Keeps the pain at bay for an extended period of time. I hope you have been able to reduce the pain some since you posted. Hugs ~ Sandi :
Mine was horrible ! Could barely walk and my leg would buckle out from under me. Heating pad and TENS unit helped. Found out it was my sacroiliac joint Received an injection there and the pain completely disappeared until last month. It’s slowly coming back.
Same here, same place that it starts from, the sacroiliac joint. I think that many of us have this problem. Fibro seems to like to nestle into our SI joint. And the pain is horrid. Like you, I can barely walk and sometimes the leg buckles, which is super annoying as it always seems to happen when I'm on stairs.
Ice is what helps me and a PT person said it's because ice brings down the inflammation. I also use Salon Pas pads. And as a last resort, Ibuprofin.
Hey, Terri, I'm sorry your pain is returning. I hope that another shot will make you right again.
Hi pynkmynk you may very well may have what you are describing if I was you I would get a x-ray to actually see what's going on people with fibro tend to put all there pain issues down to something related to fibro, you don't say how old you are, or wether you have a history of osteo arthritis in your family. Steriod injections may help, but I think a doctor really would need a x-ray to give effective treatment. I have no doubt about the chronic pain your in but what ever you take is just going to relieve the symptoms for a little while. I hope this points you in the right direction all the best Warm Hugs Jeannie
I feel so bad for you! I have had this same type of pain for the last 2-3 weeks! I don't know if it is Fibro or not, but I swear it goes down deep in the bone! I have used vicoden to deal with the pain, I even wake up during the night crying in pain from it! I hate going to Dr so I put it off, I no at some point I will disclose to the Dr.;s just not today! Hang in there, I no how bad it hurts,,, I also have osteoporosis, and osteoarthritis, along with degenerative joints, and a few more! gentle hugs coming you way and prayers for pain relief.,,
I have this alot too , I use heat pads and warm baths I can have two a day , x
I wish I could give you a cure, but I can't. Hip pain was actually my first symptom. I found I could not sit cross-legged on the floor with my toddlers (20 years ago). No tests have ever found a "problem" Sometimes I feel like I must look bow-legged with the pain. I personally have found no pain relief for any of my fibromyalgia pain. Lyrica did not touch the pain but made me sleep all of the time, so I gave that up. Some type of life was better than none. I take coumadin for a blood clot disorder, so NSAIDs are all out for me.
I find a good deal of relief in a hot tub or, if not available, a very hot shower or bath.
I wish we were all alike so we could share the "magic" cure with one another, but if you haven't tried moist heat, perhaps that will give you at least temporary relief.
Blessings,
Wendy
My hips have gotten to hurt so bad that I actually dreaded going to bed. Lying down was more torture than walking. I seldom sleep in my bed more than an hour or two at night. Sooner or later, I end up in my faithful recliner.
Yes, I have horrible pain in my right hip as well. (off and on). I typically take a bath and then take something to make me sleep. Usually sleeping it off helps me. Sorry I'm not more help. I hope you feel better!!
Not sure if where any of you are having it but being one of the odd balls I find cold helps me, I use a product called 'ice gel' it also comes in a spray but if you spray it on the affected area it helps alleviate the pain immediately.
Hi,
I have had severe hip pain. And it does feel like it is in the bone. I have also had severe pain in my Right rib and in my leg bones, and in my SI joint (as someone else described here in reply). ??? I really have no answer for it. I take nsaid pain relievers and I rest and pray to God that I will be strong enough to get thourgh it. I pray for you too. It is an extreme physical and mental suffering. And, like many fibro patients meds simply don't help enough. I'm not really being negative as much as I am trying to be realistic. Sometimes the injections do help. I did have some relief when I had those. You might want to try it. If it doesn't work for you, I recommend resting and meditation.Sometimes that is all you can do.
Could be bursitis in your hip. If you can see a doctor and get some prednisone that might help cure it. I had bursitis last year and it was very painful. Take care of yourself : )
Yes, I have hip pain. It can be terrible for awhile and then get better. I believe mine is osteoarthritis. I use heat and warm Epsom Salt / Baking Soda baths.
I was wondering if yours could be bursitis. It is extremely painful. It can come on hard and fast.
I see you wrote this over a week ago. I hope you are doing better. Let us know.
