Has any taken savella? I couldn't get past 4 pills. I was supposed to build up to a daily dose gradually. Side effects wwere terrible so I am back on cymbalta
Hi Lyditra,
Yes, I tried it years ago and it was certainly a mood lifter, however, I started to shake uncontrollably and felt like someone was running a shart object over the top of my head, so that was the end of that. Never took Cymbalta.
What do you take for your Arthritis and Sciatica? I have Psoriatic Arthritis and Sciatica along with a few others, but I take Lyrica which gives me great relief from the nerve pain of my legs and Oxyprozin as an anti-inflammatroy and Enbrel to slow the progression of the Arthritis.
We would love to have you join our new 'Fibromyalgia and Arthritis' group. There are many more here with arthritis than I realized! I have been busy gathering info on the new treatments and up-coming meds.
So sorry you could not take it, sorry that I couldn't, I could have used that mood lifter, believe me!
Be well, be happy,
SK
PS I am still trying to find out how long it takes for the tainted steroid solutions to react within the body. Will post it as soon as I know something.
I never had any problems with my savella side effect wise. The only problem I had was when my fibro got super bad after I had been on it for about a year. My flair didn’t get better till I started taking Gabapenitn instead. I had a bad reaction the first time I took lyrica and it never did agree with me. We are all just different. Hope you can find something that helps.

Whew, we had quite the discussion on this a few weeks ago. The person in qestion ended up not being sure if it was the Savella that was causing the bad side effects or not.
You might want to check what other meds you were on along with Savella. The person here was on some meds that were NOT supposed to be prescribed with Savella and could cause very serious side effects. You could check by typing in all of your meds in the search engine plus the words "Savella" and "interactions."
Not all drugs react equally with people. What works for me might be terrible for you. What's important is to listen to your own body. If it doesn't like the Savella, it's best to listen.
Hey lyditra,
I just weaned myself off Savella 2 weeks ago. I started it in May, and I was very sick all summer, but never realized it was from Savella. I was blaming everything on Fibro, blood pressure, or herniated discs.... then I increased the Savella, and I couldn't tell if I was dying, or I wanted to kill myself. Sudden onset of tremendous all over pain, chest pain, suicidal thoughts, and headaches that would just paralyze me, and leave just as suddenly. It was scary for a few days, until I finally put 2 and 2 together, and figured out it was the Savella.
It seems that FMS patients tend to brush every symptom off, blaming it all on Fibromyalgia, when it could be something urgent.
Hang in there, just keep trying different treatments... you'll find one that works for you.
Hugs!
Thanks for your input. I know I get reaactions to a lot of drugs. So I have learned the hard way to be on my guard when trying a new drug. I felt that savella was messing in my head. If I had taken any more I could have been in a lot of trouble. Take care and rest. Lyditra
